บท 169: The Investigation Begins

When the court session was finally over, the Emperor retired to the depths of the palace while the ministers and officials began slowly filing out. There was a lot of discussion about the corruption investigation that will soon be set in motion. 

"It will be nearly impossible to make those corrupted officials spit out the silver they have taken over the years," Xiao Yujin said breezily as he walked over to Xiao Moxian. "Fifth Brother, if you need help, do let me know. I can use my influence over the Ministry of Accounts to help you."

Xiao Moxian glanced at him. "Help me? Xiao Yujin, I am sure you know that this investigation involves too many important officials and too much profit. I would hate for you to make enemies among your own department. The only thing I ask is for you to cooperate nicely when I conduct my investigations."
