บท 27: What Is A Slut
For a second, she wanted to rush towards his face and slap him.
Yang Shiwei tugged at Min Yue's hand. "Yue, stop... Let us not make things hard Miss Li. It must be because she hates that I got engaged to you which is why she said all those things. Afterall, you were together in university. She must still love you to this day..."
Yang Shiwei finished her words by squeezing a tear out of her pitiful eyes. It was a scene that made people's hearts tighten and they looked at Li Ruyan unkindly.
"So it's a third party..."
"Poor Miss Yang... She does not deserve this kind of treatment from the ex-girlfriend."
"Why is this person here?"
"Hey, watch your words, that is Miss Li, CEO Chen's secretary."
People whispered to each other in low voices but if one were to strain their ears, they could still hear what they were saying.
Gossip and rumors in the business circle were quick to spread and people always liked to talk about scandals of other people even if it was a trivial matter.
However, Yang Shiwei was CEO Yang's daughter and she was engaged to Min Yue, the CEO of Min Corporation while Li Ruyan was the rumored secretary of the CEO of Chen Corporation, Chen Zhelan, another big fish who was both wealthy and influential.
The people involved in this were no ordinary people. If it were people with no names, they would have been ignored but not the people who were capable of making huge waves in the business industry.
"Shiwei, don't cry. I'll handle this." Min Yue told his fiancée.
For a second, Li Ruyan wondered if Min Yue really lied and that he purposely lured her here just to humiliate her and that the one he actually loved right now was Yang Shiwei. She was jumping to conclusions and it was the first time she felt stupid for thinking this way.
It was because she could not find any other reason why he would act this way when previously, he was hugging her and professing his love to her.
'Yue, were you really telling the truth? Yue, I can't stand it. It hurts to see you caring for another woman...'
Li Ruyan blinked back the tears that were threatening to spill from her eyes.
"I'm leaving." She decided wisely. There was no need to stay for long. Otherwise, she might cry or throw a fit out of anger. Retreating was not cowardly. This was also for her sake.
But Li Ruyan knew, that until she finds out the truth about Min Yue's actions, in her eyes, he would be labeled as a cheating bastard.
Pain.
So much pain that she wanted to curl up in a corner and hide from the world but on the surface, she turned around with an expressionless face, determined to walk away and never look back.
"Stop." A cold voice ordered.
The sea of people parted like waves. A man in a sharp suit approached and based on Li Ruyan's recollection, this was CEO Yang, the same man who called her a 'whore' and a 'beggar' yesterday night at the restaurant.
He was also Yang Shiwei's father and another big fish in the business industry.
"Who allowed this slut to enter this place? I don't remember inviting this person." He waved his hand. "Call the guards and send her away."
Li Ruyan froze. To think that she would be called by another name.
Slut.
What is a slut? In the urban dictionary, it is said to be a woman who has many casual sex partners, a woman who does not hesitate to use their body for their gain.
Li Ruyan was not a slut. The only person she had sexual intercourse with was Min Yue and no one else and it was only recently did she lost her virginity to him.
She laughed.
People's imaginations can be really wild.
"CEO Yang, I apologize for the disturbance. I came here to greet you on your birthday today. I did not expect that I would receive this kind of unfair treatment. CEO Yang really knows how to treat his guest well."
The bodyguards wearing black suits arrived as soon as she finished speaking and they were quick to surround her, closing in on her as if she was an escaped prisoner. When one tried to grab her arm, she evaded and took a step backward.
"Hm! Preposterous! My Yang family does not extend invitations towards lowly people like you. Not only were you pestering my future son-in-law but you also dared to make my daughter cry! Who gave you the courage?" Yang Liu, also known as CEO Yang was seething.
When it came to his daughter, he was very protective and could even spout vulgarities without batting an eye.
In his eyes, Li Ruyan was a desperate and shameless slut that was trying to steal her daughter's fiancé away. Coupled with the way she dressed up like some Virgin Mary, Yang Liu's impression of Li Ruyan being a scheming woman with loose morals was solidified.
