Horta's originally amiable face immediately contorted. "Kid, are you playing with me?"

"Who doesn't want a dragon? You guys are good at scheming. You claim that I'm the one who's playing you, but in truth, you're the ones who are toying with me, no!?" Locke snapped.

"So, you're not going to give up the Dragon Core?"

"If you're willing to give up those ancient tomes, I'll consider it!" Locke's words were aggressive, and it was clear that he had no intention of negotiating.

With his last glimmer of hope shattered, Horta waved his hand, and immediately after, a dozen or so soldiers had surrounded Locke.
