"We do not need to talk, Mabella. Not after you kicked me out for stating the obvious." 

"I'm sorry I upset you." She helplessly pleaded to be heard, not believing she was doing this. "I know how confused you must be." 

"I'm not. I never expected you to reciprocate my feelings." Chloe cut her off. "And I don't want to stay with you all day. It's going to be awkward and I can't leave because Avery made me promise not to leave until they return. Can you leave?" 

Mabella grabbed her hand and before either of them could figure out anything, she kissed the other's lips. She then pulled away and smiled at the wide-eyed Chloe. "Can we talk now?" 

Struck with shock, Chloe made way for her and shut the door. If there was any disadvantage of being close to a shrink, it was the fact that they knew what to do to get specific reactions.
