I apologize for the delay. I suddenly fell ill. I'm better now, so here's a new chapter.
Now chapter:
* * * * * * * * * *
In a quiet place in the forest, not far from the collapsed cave, a strong flash of magic arose, in the place of which four silhouettes appeared in the form of three ponies and one changeling queen. They all looked like they'd been struck by lightning, with their hair pulled up and the ends of their fur scorched.
Chrysalis coughed a little and said with irritation:
"Kha-Kha… what a… chaotic way of using magic, damn it," Chrysalis turned to Starlight while saying this, "I thought you were good at it!"
Embarrassed, Starlight began to defend herself:
"I am! It's just that I'm not used to teleporting such a large number of ponies over such distances. And by the way..." Looking at Alan, she pointed to his bracelets, and said, "his artifacts interfere with the flow of magic quite a lot, reducing the stability of the spell, so if it weren't for that, teleportation would be almost perfect!"
Alan was smart enough to keep quiet about her proud statement, and instead glanced at everyone to make sure they were all okay, then looked at Chrysalis, and grinning, said:
"You know, to be honest, I didn't expect you to team up with Starlight to come to my aid. What has changed since I left?"
Averting her gaze with slight embarrassment, Chrysalis replied in a muffled voice:
"Well…" she glanced at Starlight, "this pony wasn't as weak as the others, so I just decided to follow your words and give a chance to all these opportunities that come in the present."
Hearing her words, Starlight gave her a satisfied smile and asked hopefully:
"So… what do you think?"
Thinking about the answer, Chrysalis looked down, and her eyes began to move from side to side, as if she was trying to make a decision, and finally, having decided something for herself, she answered:
"I guess working on rescuing someone with a 'friend'," the word was said with extreme reluctance, "instead of attacking, isn't that bad. Although, it's a pity that we never took part in the fight against the griffons. I'm still mad at them for shooting me with their strange devices."
Delighted by her answer, Starlight walked over to the tense Chrysalis and asked:
"Then, let me ask my last question again. Will you accept my…" Here she stopped abruptly, and looking at Alan, she shook her head, "no…" Starlight pulled the stallion towards her with her magic, and corrected herself, "not mine, but ours. Will you accept our friendship?" Starlight extended her hoof to the former queen.
Seeing this, Alan also extended his hoof to her, with a warm smile on his face. Looking at them, Chrysalis was at first a little confused, and with some hesitation in her voice, said:
"I… I still doubt that this is really a good choice, but still…" Looking back at her collapsed cave, she continued, "It would be great to stop worrying about the future for once and trust what is in front of me right now. "Looking into their eyes, she nodded confidently, and stated, "Despite what my logic and experience tell me, I will trust you ponies for the last time and accept this friendship of yours."
After that, Chrysalis placed her hoof on top of Alan's and Starlight's, delighting both of them.
As soon as this happened, suddenly the cutie marks on Starlight and Alan's sides began to flicker, drawing everyone's attention. Seeing this, Starlight's eyes literally widened in surprise, and she said in confusion:
"This… can't be…" looking at Chrysalis and Alan, she said fascinated, "it turns out that all this time, the problem of friendship that should have been solved was friendship with Chrysalis?"
Looking at the startled purple mare, Alan said thoughtfully:
"I guess that's what it is. I mean, it was pretty obvious. Wasn't that one of your failed attempts at making friends in the past that should have been fixed?"
Starlight nodded her head in confusion, but then quickly cheered up, realizing that things had turned out much better than she had imagined going on this adventure.
Chrysalis, on the other hand, looked at them with a raised eyebrow, and said:
"You know, I don't even know whether I should be happy that I now have… hmm… friends…" she still didn't feel comfortable saying that word, "or be angry that your friendship with me was initiated by this suspicious map of yours… "
Hearing Chrysalis's words, Starlight frowned and replied:
"It wasn't the map that made us friends. It was us, our decisions, our actions, and our desire. None of us even thought about the map or mission the moment we ran into you. It's just…" Starlight thought for a moment, "happened by itself, so don't even think about the fact that our friendship can be fake!"
Starlight was surprisingly serious and stern when she said this, which surprised not only Chrysalis but also Alan and Trixie. And it was after this that Trixie, who had been silent all this time, finally broke down and spoke:
"Sorry to interrupt, but can someone finally explain what's going on here, since I don't understand anything!" looking around at everyone, she asked, "what did I miss that Chrysalis suddenly became your friend?" then she carefully looked at Chrysalis, and said, "No offense, but I still do not trust you, and at least I need time to get used to it."
Shrugging her shoulders, Chrysalis answered in an uninterested voice:
"No problem, I'm used to it now. Plus, if I were you, I'd be skeptical too."
This seemed to relax the nervous Trixie, who looked at Starlight and said plaintively:
"Starlight, could you please return my van? He is somewhere in the forest, and in it almost my whole life!"
"Do you even remember where it is?" Starlight looked doubtfully at her friend.
Thinking about it, Trixie answered uncertainly:
"Well... kind of? I was pretty disoriented when the griffins caught me, so I only remember part of the surroundings. But I know for sure that it was a ten minute walk from their town, and there was a river nearby."
"A river you say?" Starlight put a hoof to her chin as she recalled her route, "Ah, right, I saw the river when I went around the mountain. Okay, I'll help with your wagon."
Overjoyed, Trixie immediately ran into Starlight with a hug. Breaking out of her friend's grip, Starlight walked over to Chrysalis and Alan and spoke to the tall mare:
"So, Chrysalis, I'm going to help Trixie with her van, after which we'll head back to Ponyville. So, would you like to...
"Go with you?" Chrysalis cut her off, clearly reading Starlight's thoughts.
Receiving a nod from the lilac mare, Chrysalis sighed and replied:
"Look, I'm really flattered that you invited me to your town, despite what I've done in the past. But I'm not ready to show myself to a large group of ponies yet, because I don't think they will accept me as quickly as a couple of weird guys like you," saying that, she looked at Starlight, and at Alan, while keeping her gaze on him a little longer.
Sighing, Starlight said:
"Well, I thought so. Honestly, it would be too good if you could also come back to Ponyville with us." Seeing the smirk on the former queen's face, she asked, "Then what are you planning to do now?"
Looking somewhere into the distance, Chrysalis answered:
"Honestly, all my thoughts before this were about revenge on you, but since this option is no longer relevant, I don't really have any plans. So for a start, I would like to return to my swarm and see how they are things are going well, are they now living well, being new beings and under new management. If they are doing well without me, then ... " she thought a little, trying to figure out what she would do in this case.
Seeing this, Alan went up to her, and putting his hoof on her shoulder, said:
"Then you can always go to Ponyville. And if you're worried about what the other ponies think, then... fuck it, seriously! When did you ever care what other ponies think of you? What's important is that me, Starlight and all our friends will support you, and help you to integrate into a new life. And then, perhaps, the rest of the ponies will warm up to you. Am I right?" Alan turned to Starlight and Trixie behind them.
Starlight nodded with a smile and said:
"Of course, I'm sure that when we explain everything to the others, they will definitely understand everything and help."
Then, to the surprise of the others, Trixie also spoke:
"You know, I can say from my own experience that gaining the trust of those who have been harmed in the past is very difficult. But if you really want to achieve this, then I will gladly help you with this. We former bad guys need to stick together."
Raising an eyebrow at her statement, Chrysalis asked:
"Former bad guys?"
Approaching Starlight, Trixie pointed her hoof at herself and said with a smirk:
"I used the Alicorn amulet, and after kicking out Twilight, I imprisoned all the ponies of Ponyville under a huge glass dome, and made everyone my slaves."
At this point, Starlight pointed her hoof at herself, and also stated:
"Builded a settlement where I kept ponies through brainwashing and took away their cutie marks. Then I was defeated by Twilight and her friends, after which I made a plan for revenge, during which I almost wiped the whole of Equestria from the face of the earth."
Looking at the two of them with her mouth open, Chrysalis quickly came to her senses, and whistled, said:
"Wow, that was... really unexpected. Looks like we might actually be some kind of bad girl club."
"In the past," Starlight corrected.
Snorting merrily, Chrysalis stated:
"Well, speak for yourself, I'm still bad enough."
Laughing at their exchange of words, Alan said:
"Well, if you really organize such a club, then I have another member for this. I will introduce her to you in the future. But for now..." he looked at Starlight. "let's get this over with and get back home. I don't know about you, but I'm so hungry I could eat a whole horse."
The mares looked at him strangely, and realizing what he said, Alan quickly corrected himself:
"I mean chocolate. Would eat a whole chocolate horse..."
Shrugging, Starlight and Trixie said goodbye to Chrysalis and teleported away to find Trixie's Caravan. Left alone with Alan, Chrysalis said:
"So, Mr. Alan, how come you have so many mixed likes, hmm?" A sly smile appeared on her face.
"Well, how can I say ..." Alan smiled embarrassedly, "all this is a combination of rather strange circumstances, in which it is not easy for me to figure it out myself yet. In general, if you want to hear the details, then come to Ponyville as soon as possible, and together with Maud, I will gladly enlighten you."
Raising an eyebrow, Chrysalis chuckled and replied:
"Well, I guess I have at least one more reason to visit this Ponyville of yours, ah… I can't believe I said that."
With a slight smirk, Alan took out a small piece of paper from his bag, and magically burned the address of his house with Maud on it, after which he handed it to Chrysalis. Chrysalis glanced at Alan strangely after looking at the paper with the burnt information, and immediately received an explanation from him:
"The griffins took all the sharp objects, including the pencil," as he said this, he pointed with his hoof at his side bag.
Nodding, Chrysalis hid the paper under her wing, and turning to Alan, said:
"Well, this looks like we're saying goodbye, and don't even think about throwing the classic pony-style sentimental goodbyes or I'll really change my mind about giving the whole friendship thing a chance."
Smiling, Alan just shrugged his shoulders, and with a mock tone replied:
"Oh, what a pity, I really wanted to hold you in my arms for goodbye, sing a song, and maybe even shed a tear."
"It's really a pity, I'll have to postpone my plans to take over Equestria," after a slight chuckle, she said, "Okay, see you soon, Mr. thoughtless rescuer," Chrysalis turned around and began to leave.
Looking after her, Alan grinned, and replied:
"Goodbye, Miss Hot Queen."
Chrysalis nearly stumbled at his words, but quickly regained her balance and continued to walk away without looking back. Satisfied with himself, Alan laughed as he waited for Starlight and Trixie to return.
To his delight, he didn't have to wait long, and ten minutes later Starlight appeared in a flash of magic next to him, and said:
"Alan, we're done. I got Trixie and her wagon to the road we were on, so she's already there waiting for us."
Nodding, Alan approached the mare, and she again used her magic and carried them to the Wagon, after which they all set off towards Ponyville together. The journey took them a full day, during which Starlight noticed Trixie's obsessive attempts to stay close to Alan to keep the conversation going.
Starlight wasn't sure how she felt about that. On the one hand, she is happy for her friend, who apparently had her eye on the most unusual stallion among all that she met, but on the other hand, she still remembered Maud's words, hinting at their far from friendly relationship with Alan.
Following behind talking Trixie and Alan, she looked at Alan's back and couldn't help but remember all their moments together, conversations and silly jokes. It was all so refreshing compared to the other ponies in Equestria that she really thought about taking Maud's advice and boldly diving into this charming trap named Alan.
She decided that before doing anything, she should at least talk to Maud face to face in order to finally figure out what kind of relationship between her and Alan, and what place she would take in them if she did make a move on Alana. Also, she doesn't want to keep Trixie in the dark, which adds at least one more conversation to her list.
Thus, they made their way all the way to the borders of Ponyville, where Starlight once again used teleportation to move them right into the center of the city. Looking at the two mares, Alan said:
"Yes, finally! I missed showers so much! Come on Starlight, let's hurry, I want to wash off all this sweat and dust and clean myself up," saying that, the blue mare pulled the surprised Starlight along without letting her time to answer anything to Alan.
She only succeeds in waving her hoof at him, while being carried away by her friend.
Having laughed a little at this scene, Alan turned around and headed towards his house with Maud, but before he had gone even a hundred meters, he heard a monotonous voice from the side:
"You're back. Great."
Turning around, he was pleasantly surprised to find Maud there, loaded with a package of various products. He quickly remembered that the refrigerator in their cave was empty when he left the house, so it looks like she finally decided to fix this problem.
Smiling at her, he replied:
"Yeah, just got to the city, literally. And you…" Alan wanted to ask something else, but was interrupted by a sharply approaching gray mare that covered his mouth with a quick and deep kiss.
Widening his eyes in surprise, Alan almost fell back from her pressure, but then quickly picked up her pace, and was able to adequately respond to her sudden impulse. After a couple of seconds, she pulled away from him, and not paying attention to the blushing ponies of passers-by, she said in a charming monotonous voice:
"You, me, house, bed, Now!" after that, Maud pulled Alan with her, while managing to hold on to the grocery bag.
Alan was even a little taken aback by her heated behavior. But realizing what should happen next, he only smiled contentedly inside, because he also missed her very much.
But, as he approached the cave, he began to have a strange feeling that something was going to happen. And so, when they began to descend into the cave, and opened the newly installed door separating the residential part of the cave from the non-residential part, a person whom neither he nor Maud had expected to see here suddenly appeared before their eyes.
And if Maud just clicked her tongue in annoyance, seeing an unexpected obstacle between her and Alan and the bed, then Alan looked at her with a surprised look and asked:
"L… Luna? How did you get here?"
"What's wrong? Have you already forgotten how you gave me motivation to meet you as soon as possible?" seeing as he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, she continued, "As for your question, it's simple, Pinkie Pie showed me where you currently live, and she let me in."
"Ah, Alan, finally! I'm so glad you're back!!!"
Surviving the steel embrace of the pink mare, Alan looked first at the cheerful Pinky, then at Maud, slightly tense from the loss of bed comforts, and finally at the grinning alicorn mare, and thought:
"Damn, it looks like calm relaxation in bed after a shower is cancelled. Ah, what a day"
