บท 11: Meeting the Royalty, Investigating Mysterious Disappearances

Alarcus didn’t disappoint; yesterday night, he called me again, inviting me to discuss the matter in detail with those I’ll be working with today.

I sigh, lamenting my luck, wishing he had taken his time. In the end, I accepted his invitation. Why? First, I’m currying favor with the most powerful being in my corner. Second, Audrey wouldn’t give me peace if I snubbed her glorious fiancé. And third, Alarcus is a goddamned prince. I wouldn’t want him on the opposite side of me in any way! Call me basic, but I have got my priorities straight!

Alarcus set our meeting at seven in the morning, so I had to wake up at five to make it on time. Hastily brushing my hair, scrambling through my morning routine with the finesse of a deranged woman, rushing to get ready as I guessed the possible troubles they could be facing. Was it a cursed vampire or some influential vampire with an energy disruption needing help?
