Third POV
The room was thick with tension from the statement that Denver had issued from his mouth. Elijah couldn't breathe from the shock. Denver was never crass nor he swore. "I take it that this is the first time you heard Denver swear ?" Clive questioned.
Elijah nodded. it was true. He had never seen Denver swear nor mumble angrily before. It threw him for a loop.
Denver let go of Elijah. They sat on the couch and he shoved a file into Elijah's hands. "Read and then we shall speak". Elijah immersed himself into it.
Clive and Denver made eye contact with each other. They sized up each other to consider whether the other were threats.
Elijah, painfully aware of what was going on, ignored the situation and focused on the documents.
Silence covered the room. Elijah prayed that the tension disappears for good when "I like your tenacity for not looking away or getting intimidated" flew out of Denver's mouth which had Elijah raising an eyebrow in surprise. Clive quirked an eyebrow and nodded back in agreement. They started chatting. It looks like they were allies at the moment.
Elijah let out the breath he was holding at the feeling of the tension retreating from the room and turned his attention back to the paper which contained the results of the investigation. The Fabbris were an old clan steeped in history and culture especially in the area of crafts and design.
There was a main branch and a second branch of which Leon belonged to along with his wife Ilya. Lucien and himself were a part of the main branch as theirfather was none other than the late heir, Andre Sloan Fabbri.
Well known businessman and shoe designer. Top Socialite in Acardia City. He was studying design in Italy where he met their mom, Ciana Agosti. She was a well known sculptor and model from the Agosti family who are famous for being top models in the modelling world.
It was love at first sight. Dad and Mom (Elijah felt that it was right ) were smitten with each other. The courtship lasted for 2 years and then they tied the knot in a small ceremony.
Elijah turned over to the next page. He froze at the picture displayed. He and Lucien looked exactly like their dad with the features such as the amethyst eyes and facial structure but the rest like their silver blond hair and moles were from their mom. He decided to show the picture to Lucien as soon as they were alone and when none of the idiots are around.
Tears blurred his vision as he flipped to the next page and his heart went stone cold.
His parents were alive and were searching for them from Greece.
