He must be beating himself up for failing to protect her before. Coupled with the weight of her impending doom, it must be a lot of pressure for one person to handle.

For now, she needed to concentrate on the man by her side. She laid her head on his shoulder as they continued watching the daylight slowly slip away.

" Muntaha, did you get your revenge?" He looked at her almost amused. What would be her reaction if she knew that the people who caused his family's death were her beloved's?

" Not yet. I attempted to once but ended up failing. Sadly, I can't get rid of the people in question without destroying the entire realm. Though I enjoy killing, I don't want to eradicate my entire race. It's too cruel even for me."
