Chapter 20: I didn’t know falling in love would literally mean falling

I don’t know where I’m going. I can barely see through my tears as I accelerate down Logan’s driveway. I don’t understand what happened, but what I do know is that Logan doesn’t love me or even wants to be with me. I got that much from his angry rant. My face feels hot and swollen, and my heart hurts.

Tightening my hands on the steering wheel, I look through my blurry eyes at the bright moon hanging in the sky, mocking me and my pain.

How could he have said those things to me? I don’t even remember changing into my clothes or getting into the car. Everything feels muted as if it happened to someone else.

He was so cold and angry. When I heard the door open earlier, I assumed he was coming to bed and went back to sleep. Something must have woken me up an hour later because I realized he wasn’t in bed, so I went in search of him. I didn’t expect to find him getting drunk on the patio.
