บท 39: Chapter 38: Risking it
Some of the SMBs heeded Shin's warning while the other's didn't.
The Orc Lord's red eyes shined. He roared towards the sky and then instantly reappeared beside a Yellow eyed SMB. He grabbed that SMB and ate him whole.
"Noo!!!! Nooo!!! Ahhhh!!!" The man yelled but it was no use.
Then, he reappeared again beside a regular woman that was running for her life. The Orc Lord grabbed her and then bit her head off. He spat her head to the side and then proceeded to ate her body whole. Blood squirted everywhere like a fountain. It was raining blood. The ground was dyed red as numerous more died from the assaults of the normal orc soldiers.
The Orc Lord didn't stop there. He then reappeared behind a group of running SMBs and then he swung his bat. Killing 4 people in the blink of an eye.
"You!!! B*stard!" Shin said angrily as he pointed his tomahawk towards the Orc Lord.
"KILL!!!" Shin threw his hesitation to the back of his head. It was saving people or being a coward and freezing at the moment! He who has the capability to help should help! He knew this! That's why he charged in without hesitation and threw caution to the wind.
Wrath and the 17 other creatures ran towards the Orc Lord.
They all attacked the Orc Lord but were either smashed or turned into piles of meat paste.
Wrath pounced on the Orc Lord but it instantly got shaken off by it. How could Wrath hold it down? Earlier, before the Orc Lord became enraged, he was no match for it. Much less now that the stats of the Orc Lord were increased by 60%!
'Dammit! I have to get close to him!' Shin thought in his head. The reason why he insisted on using that skill rather than using his innate ability was because of the rank of the Orc Lord. It constantly bothered him. The rank of the portal was judged by the system gl be at A rank. But the eye color of this Orc Lord was only at B rank. That meant that this Orc Lord wasn't the boss. He had to save his innate ability for the boss.
"Wrath! Distract him!" Shin ordered.
Wrath looked at him as if acknowledging his order and then ran towards the Orc Lord.
Shin retreated farther away and disappeared from the view of the Orc Lord.
He circled his way towards the blind spot of the Orc Lord. Which would be its back!
"Yes! I've got you now!" After a few minutes of running, he finally got a good spot to emerge from while his troops were busy distracting the Orc Lord.
Shin charged towards the Orc Lord at full speed.
However....
The Orc Lord smiled as his body then spun very fast with the bat. Shaking the undead minions.
Shin was stunned by the sudden movement for a moment.
The Orc Lord saw this chance as his massive body appeared in front of Shin. He raised his bat up into the sky as he activated his skill.
[Ding Ding! Enemy has used skill called Amplification. Strength stat has increased by 30%]
The system sent a warning but how could Shin even have the time to notice it when death was right in front of him asking for a bit of cookies and to sign an attendance list.
'F*ck! I'm gonna risk it!' Shin thought for a moment as he woke up from his daze. The Orc Lord might have seen his stunned state as an opportunity. But little did he know that Shin had the same thing in mind. The Orc Lord was standing right in front of him. Maybe only about 1-2 meters away. This was the only chance that he could get to ever getting this close to an enraged Orc Lord.
Shin saw this as an opportunity. His eyes glowed orange as he directed all of his strength to his legs.
It was a do or die move! Who would win in this exchange? Shin or the Orc Lord? If Shin lost then all was lost but if he won then...
"BOOM!"
An explosion rang out and reverberated to the heavens above.
The whole parking lot was filled with a dust fog and debris. All the soldiers from the two sides were hit by the shockwave and tumbled a few meters.
There at the middle of the crater that formed, stood a silhouette of man and a 15 meters tall creature. The man's hands were pressed on the creature's feet as a gigantic demonic hand that was transluscent was becoming more and more visible as the dust fog subsided.
After a few moments of silence, the enormous creature finally went down with a loud thud that also sent a small shockwave for a few meters.
Shin won!
He won!
