บท 12: Chapter 11: SMB License
Now wasn't the time to grieve! Now was the time to be a filial son and fulfill his role as an older brother.
Shin sobered up.
He walked towards the lady.
"Hello Shin. I am Ms. Meridith Gacias. I am from the Irosinian Guild. Your mother was my colleague. Although we worked for different parties, we knew each other. She often told me about you. That her older son was the first one to discover the meteor and immediately went into a comatose state after that."
Shin nodded. His heart was hurting but his determination was suppressing the pain.
"Your mother was a C rank SMB with green eyes. She was one of the assets of our guild. She was one of our finest SMBs"
'Mother was a C rank? She had green eyes?'
"We are deeply saddened by what happened." The woman bowed towards Shin.Then suddenly, she got straight to the point.
"Shin, your family is in dire straits now. The only way to make money is to enter dungeons."
"As people from the same guild as your mother, we would like to extend our branches and help you out. I noticed that you have orange eyes. You are a D rank SMB with orange eyes. In this little town of ours, D rank SMBs are still an asset." The woman explained.
Shin didn't say anything his mind was still processing what she said.
Seeing that Shin was having a hard time thinking, "Talk to me when you've reached a decision. I'll wait at the Irosinian Guild."
Shin nodded. The woman left.
Shin looked back at her mother and then stayed with her for another day with Shaun. That day when Shin rushed in, the doctor called Shaun.
Shaun was crestfallen when he heard the news.
"Mom wake up.... Pleasee wake up..." He sobbed and sobbed. Shin accompanied him and said,
"Don't worry. Kuya is here. I'm here.
. Mom will recover. Kuya will find a way. Trust me."
Shaun looked at him and said anxiously,
"Will you fight with those monsters like mom!?"
Shin nodded. He didn't deny it.
"Are you stupid!? Can't you see what those monsters did to mom!? Even if you're an orange eyed SMB what can you do! Mother has green eyes yet she still ended up this way!"
Shin looked at his brother and hugged him.
"I'm sorry. We have no choice. You also know that this is the fastest way of getting money. The more money we have, the better equipments the hospital can provide to our mother. Increasing the chances of her recovery."
Shaun stayed silent.
"Don't worry. Kuya... Kuya is strong." Shin said.
The next day he left Shaun at he hospital and then went to the Irosinian Guild to get a license. The Irosinian Guild was located in the former auditorium of Irosin. Baranggay San Julian.
"Excuse me, where can I get a license to join a dungeon raid?" Shin asked the woman at the counter.
"Just go to that room sir."
Shin walked to that room and then saw that there were also people who was like him. People who were getting a license.
After 30minutes, it was finally his turn.
"Okay, place your hand over this orb and we can confirm your rank." The woman working for the guild said.
Shin placed his hand and it glowed orange.
It seems that whatever color your eyes had, the orb would surely glow that color too.
"Shin Salazar, Rank D Orange Eyes SMB"
'Shin Salazar huh? Son of Reyna..' the woman thought to herself.
"He's Shin Salazar? One of the three who discovered the meteor and Reyna's son?"
"Yeah I think he is..."
"Huh..."
The people whispered to themselves.
"Okay now please wait over there for your license card sir."
After a few hours of waiting, the license card was handed to Shin. He was now finally a licensed Rank D Orange Eyed SMB.He can now finally raid dungeons!
