บท 51: Chapter 51: Somebody Needs Me After All

Heading home from Gary’s, I counted the ways this day had totally hosed me so far. I’d been kicked out of school. My best friend had betrayed me and hooked up with my major crush. My sister wasn’t buying the well-crafted lies I was peddling. Oh, and let’s not forget that I may have helped bring about the end of the world as we know it.

Actually, that had been a few days earlier but I figured it was big enough to still count.

I didn’t feel like going home and facing Ronnie, so I just stuck my head down and walked, letting my feet take me where they would. I travelled the suburban streets of my neighborhood for a couple of hours. At one point, my phone chimed and Caller ID told me Gary the back-stabbing creep was ringing me, probably to try and explain how he’d ended up dating Zoe Francis and how he hoped I wasn’t mad and that we were still buds and how I shouldn’t be a hater and whatever. I sent him to voicemail and turned off my phone.
