The scene was gory, the disaster, a huge setback to the Dark Side, and I wanted no part of it to be attached to me. I used the cloak swiftly and activated a secondary explosive, which would be triggered by proximity.
I left towards the small shack, where the tools to clean the courtyard were kept. I had decided to retreat, before someone untoward comes and blocks my exit. I felt no wards erected, and disapparated towards a safe location about thirty miles southeast. From there, I took a portkey to Diagon Alley, and left towards the 12 Grimmauld Place, to see if the wards were up. Seeing that they were, I left London, and apparated to Kensington and took the final portkey to my quarters, where I was staying for the duration of my excursion.
All this roundabout trip was essential, because, as I found out, Unspeakables can apparently track where the portkey was triggered, and where the person landed. But using Apparition and Portkey together, one after the other, throws the scent off, as I found out from mom and dad, who told me this trick.
When I reached the hotel room, I relaxed a little. I saw how easy it was to gank unsuspecting wizards and witches. If they don't see your wands out, they are bound to take you lightly and underestimate you. This is doubly true, for pureblood families, who revere blood status.
The most dreadful weakness of a wizard or witch is, if they fail to draw the wand in time, they are as fragile as a muggle. And I capitalised on their false sense of safety to make the hit.
In an instant, the active Black family dark wizards and witches were eliminated. With Rudolphus and his wife dead, the Lestrange family line was thinned out too. And I knew, it would have dire repercussions, as right now, Voldemort is at the height of his power, and unlike cannon has suffered tremendous setbacks, but I would be prepared for any fallouts. For now, I was content in seeing the Death Eaters being culled like that.
I knew, my parents were always following me, the necklace I was given had a tracking charm made from Blood Magic after all. But I was happy with my actions.
When I looked at the splintered bodies to find anything useful, I searched for their keys once again, and after seeing the type of Vault keys in their possessions, gave up on looting the prestigious Black family. They were a bunch of paranoid degenerates and would have nasty curses placed on their belongings.
I left by leaving clues near the body which would lead to absolutely nowhere. I could have disposed off the bodies, both here and at Yaxley manor. But ultimately, I wanted to make a statement. And what better way, than to slaughter the entire family of Dark Lord's Lieutenant in broad daylight.
Of course, I did it all under the Polyjuice potion, so there are no chances of DNA evidence.
I was happy with the mission, and it seemed all a bit too easy. But then I remembered how utterly dependent they all are on their wands, instead of their common sense.
From my intended kill list, I still wanted to kill the werewolf Fenrir Grayback, and Walden Macnair. But for that, I needed to wait for the Rosier and Selwyns to walk out in the light.
They were the link connecting to Macnair, and he was the link to find Grayback. Rosier and Selwyns were apparently close family ties with Macnair, and they were currently hiding and haven't made a public appearance.
They were apparently in hiding, after numerous "blood traitors" saw the Rosier Heir killing a muggleborn wizard due to some animosity during his Hogwarts year. And Lord Selwyn was accused of killing that muggleborn's family.
And now the entire family was in hiding, while the Aurors had a warrant for their arrest.
I decided to spend some time in vacation after this.
