บท 39: Day 141-143 Fighting for the Dark Moon seat! Part 2 Change in the Dark Moon Family
"The commander has other matters to attend to.." Liang Yu strode forward with flames and lighting coming forth. He tossed a sack over with some prime resources inside. A blatant payoff that was obvious to all there. "..he has to go and report that the Dark Moon Family has a new head as well as breaking away from the Noble House that is above them."
"Really now.." The greedy commander didn't know what to say but the jewels presented to him were to good to pass up. And from what he heard about Liang Yu, he was a good doctor and a somewhat noble character but not ambitious. Which would allow for manipulation later. That was the thought anyway. "..I will pass it along."
"It is for the best." Liang Yu handed a scroll with details to sway the man even further currently. "The families here today are under the Dark Moon Family, I am sure we can settle this matter correctly. No need for the Imperial Army to get involved."
"Very well then, good luck." The Commander checked the scroll not liking the first few passages. 'An ambush is waiting to take me out by the rebels, even more so we should leave.'
Not wanting to get involved in everything going on after getting a substantial payday, the crooked commander withdrew after making the declaration that he would return for the numbers later for the fighting effort. Once the situation was better to work with anyway.
Inside the bag was also a letter containing information on the North Lord's movement and activity.
"Sir Hong Duan!" Liang Xiang called out in shock.
"Now now, that won't do. You have other matters to attend to." Liang Yu's cultivation flared out wildly. His qi oppressive towards the Flame Martial artists present. A few Dragon Martial Artists felt a strange feeling as well. "You have been found lacking in your position. Abusing your authority, as well as sympathizing with the rebels of the country."
"You little shit! How dare you!" Liang Xiang cursed not having made a move on Liang Yu before. Everything that happened with the rebels and the Ye family occupied his time. Then the efforts of Liang Yin and a few other elders made things difficult. "You traitorous dog! How dare you act out!"
"The clan gatherings were always in the autumn end, yet this is going on. I am not liking this more and more." A clan head mumbled. The blue-haired man was the leader of the Molan family. He Dongming stood up from his seat prepared for a confrontation. 'No real announcement but this nonsense!'
"Abusing his authority is true." The head of the Black Eagle clan stood up. Like the rest of his family members, the hair an eyebrows gave the impression of a bird. "You may not be aware of it, since it happened recently but.."
"Hmm?" He Dongming stood to his clan affairs so e did not pay close attention to what happened. "A rebellion and a subsidiary clan breaking off, as well as members inciting this! The world is going crazy!"
"The Direct descendants of the Dark Moon Family went to cause trouble in the villages. When going to the Azure Feather Family, they went a little to far." If the rumors were to be believed, some of the things done by the young head of Dark moon was disgusting. "Thankfully Liang Yu, Liang Jian, Linlin, and Lady Yin arrived to stop the brunt of it."
"Most interesting," An older man with a parted mustache commented. He was the Qinging Family Lei Huo. A very resolute man in his actions and demeanor.
"But all the experts in the Azure Feather Family we see today, what about them?" He Dongming was suprised by the gathering of such promising people upon closer look. Quite a few experts in place. 'Still is weird they gathered under that clan.'
"To cause trouble when the envoy was invited even, how dare you to shame the family!" Liang Xian's anger was rising at the ramifications that will happen. Even after putting this down, he would still face trouble. "Guards, seize him!"
"Such childs play!" Liang Yue attacked both members in combat. Two elders in the 7th level who were die-hard supporters attacked with fiery darts. "You two are not needed in my Dark Moon Family!"
*Fwish!* Not wanting to waste time or allow the enemy to gain any momentum and support from those who were unsure of their allegiance, Liang Yu used half of his Flame Martial Arts qi in an instant.
Two flame fists shot out and broke through the enemy's attack. Unstopped, the raw energy went through the chest of the elders creating a fist size hole. Currents of wild flame traveled through the body of the two before they exploded.
"What a waste of resources." Liang Yu snorted as he didn't stop moving forward. A flame lance appeared in his hand as he engaged Liang Xian next. "Come on you useless Patriarch, fight me!"
*Fwish!* Liang Xian created a fireball as he jumped back. The death of two 7th level elders was a shock but his life was more important. The attack did not give him the chance to think, unfortunately.
Liang Yu cut through the fireball and was within five feet of Liang Xian in an instant. Several stabs with the lance went out in a flurry. With each strike, a small pulse of thunder could be heard.
"Damn you!" A cut across the cheek was brunt shut in an instant. Liang Xian's eyes went wild as he forcefully pushed his qi out. The defensive flame was enough to make a lesser cultivator back away. "You fool!"
Liang Yue pushed through the flames forcefully. His skin blistering, as well as his clothes singeing. The flames were then sucked in by him opening his mouth and swallowed it. On the surface, it gave that appearance but in actuality, he stored it in his Internal Space.
"Kuff!" Liang Yue spat up blood from the risky effort. But it had the desired effect of unnerving his opponent. The flame spear in his cut across Liang Xian's neck cutting him just a little. Before another attack could be made, another flare-up made him retreat. 'Acting unfazed is one thing but I cannot be stupid.'
The Flame Lance was thrown towards Liang Xian then exploded. The bright flame enough to blind him for the time being. Panic immediately on the patriarchs' face. Several members of the Dark Moon family frowned.
"Activate the Dark Moon Family's Soul Killing Array!" Liang Xian yelled hysterically. His scorched black hair making him look a right mess. The array was only supposed to be used in a time of crisis. This was not it really.
Liang Yu was not happy about that at all. He knew his soul was different with everything that happened but that would hurt or make him insane if he was caught in it unprepared. The Flame Vortex Core started spinning wildly.
*Fwish!* Bathed in blue flames, Liang Yue's body healed and his qi replenished as far as those watching were concerned.
Liang Xian did not stand idle. His hands moved in a flurry as little fire darts were launched. After launching at least twenty his hands pulled to the center of his chest. Intense heat started to generate in place.
"Hohoho!" Liang Yu activated Fire Body. Aware of the powerful technique that was about to be used against him, steps had to be taken. 'How powerful will it be I wonder?'
*Clap!* Liang Xian clapped his hands togethor with force. The technique Blazing Sun Fiery Explosion activated. A small flame volcano surrounded Liang Yue and shot into the air. Circulating Fire Body in counterwave, he broke free after a few seconds.
*Bzzt!* A flash of lightning shot through the dust at Liang Xian. Dodging it barely, his instincts kicked in just in time. Liang Yu was in close combat range once more. His left arm covered in blue-white lighting.
"I will not lose to you brat!" Liang Xiang's arms were covered in a flame spiral. "You are to early to fight someone like me!" His counterattacked missed as Liang Yue's arm moved slightly to the left. The lighting buffering against the flame spiral. 'Tch! His qi is so rich compared to mine! How can that be possible!?'
Liang Xiang raised his leg up and kicked Liang Yu away quickly. As if he hit a steel wall, a vibration travelled up his leg making it numb. It dawned on the Patriarch that Liang Yue really did not neglect his cultivation.
"This is not from external resources..." Liang Xian stepped back. His numb leg disrupting his balance a little. A jab came directly at his chest. "Damn you!" Liang Xiang flared his energy up and forcefully took a step forward. However, this one was slightly bigger and stronger. "Sacred Flame Barrier!"
"Tch!" The fire Liang Yu took in earlier reacted in tandem. For a split second his qi was disrupted. 'Never do that again! Stupid freaking mistake!' Vulnerable he was open to a direct attack.
*Bam!* Liang Yu was knocked back and bounced on the ground before he stabilized himself. The moment he righted himself, he channeled the lighting into his legs and pushed his Flame Vortex Core to spin faster.
'Finally!' With his qi no longer disrupted it was time to end the fight. 'Well, at least I will not have a problem if I have something invading my qi when fighting another opponent.'
*Fwish!* Intense flame circled Liang Yu's hand. With two steps he entered a brutal melee with Liang Xian. With each punch delivered, the focus of the qi in his fingers and knuckles increased.
"It looks like you forgot the fundamentals of fighting!" Liang Yu delivered a haymaker taking a weak counter punch from his opponent. "Your body looks well fit, but it is just hollow muscle. But you see me on the other hand.."
*Bang!* A solid uppercut delivered to the base of the chin knocked Liang Xiang into the air a little. His feet were grabbed as Liang Yu spun in place next. Lighting and flames surrounded the two as a tornado mix built up.
Instead of launching the man, however, Liang Yu tilts him up and slammed the head into the ground. Then back up and then into the ground over and over. The tips of his fingers so strong that seared flesh spread as they dug deeper inside.
"My qi.." Liang Xian's entire qi network was currently polluted by Liang Yu's. Flame and lighting flowing inside burned the qi network up. "Ahhhh!" With a cry, he was lifted up into the air then slammed directly into the ground.
"Geez.. why the heck did he do it like this.." Liang Jian mumbled. QUite a few heard him but that did not matter. "..I mean.. the plan was to just beat the old patriarch down quickly and be done with it."
"Hehe, well those two elders attacked so that disrupted things." Linlin rubbed his back gently. "Have to show just a bit. Maybe next time you deal with a problem with the family?" This caused him to pipe down. The only other threat with the family happened to be the old Patriarch. "Thats what I thought."
The vassal family had nothing to say. Just quiet as they thought what will happen next. Most expect this to be an elaborate joke. The Ye clan not so much.

Liang Yu stared at the Patriarch then at those gathered. Liang Xian struggled to stand up. After dropping a number of times, with effort, he stared defiantly. The look of a noble nowhere in sight. Just a beaten man.
"You ran.. out of qi.. didn't yah.." Wobbling a little, he mustered a counter-attack to end the fight. "I..am the Patriarch..I am Liang Xian!" All the qi he gathered in his dantian dissipate. A quick check inside revealed a small swirl in his Dantian had taken root. "Impossible!"
His outburst left several confused. The dried-up look on his face and body also made a few suprised. Never had they seen a technique that left one so dehydrated before.
"Goodbye.." Liang Yu finished him off.
Liang Yu's fingers glowed as he stabbed into Liang Xiang. With a swipe of the other hand, he produced a metal lighting blade condensed of qi. Blood sprayed out covering his body as the man died unwillingly. The same as his son did before him.
*Fwish!* Blue flame engulfed Liang Xiang as he was pulled into the Flame Vortex Core. Not even leaving a single trace behind.
Those watching looked on with fear and awe. Members of the Dark Moon Family looking mostly on in fear. As the Patriarch they followed was removed from life in front of so many people.
Liang Yu moved to the throne and sat down crossing his legs in front. Eyes dancing in flame and lighting as he looked out before him.
The Flame Vortex Core was active and grinding away at the fresh body. The skills and experience would go well for understanding things more for himself. And the knowledge about the family that oversaw the Dark moon Family would be good information.
The crowd was restless but settled down well enough.
Liang Yu let a little time pass before he said or did anything. He gestured for Liang Jian and Linlin to come forth after his qi was settled. THe fighting made him feel a lot better from the breakthrough previously.
"I name myself the New Patriarch of the Dark Moon Family, by blood, character, and power. Who opposes me?" His voice came out heavy as Astral Sense spread through the courtyard. Each of them heard as if he was right next to them.
"None of us!" Liang Jian, Linlin, and the others that came with Liang Yu voiced. His grandfather Liang Yin gave a salute and the Dark Moon members followed suit.
"We do not oppose the Dark Moon Family!" Vassal clans declared one after another. All that was left was the Azure Feather Clan who remained quiet.
"Old Ye, come forth." It was not a request. The old man walked forward bravely. Ye Xinghe walking with him despite not being called forth. "Decisions were made and that is no big deal. The Azure Feather Clan is not apart of the Dark Moon Family. You owe us no payments or contributions. In return, we owe you no protection of governance."
"This old man understands." Old Ye saluted and withdrew. Ye Xinghe stood mouth closed pensively.
"What do you want?"
"Nothing."
"Then leave. I have restructuring to do." Liang Yue gestured at the heads of the other clans. "Your family ways and customs are to be written down for safekeeping. But new laws will come out that will supersede them. This nonunified existence is disastrous for growth."
"We will.."
"You will obey or withdraw from the Dark Moon Family." Liang Yue said sternly. "No argument or bargaining. Nothing harmful will happen to you if you disagree. Treated the same as the Azure Feather Clan."
"Then we must withdraw from the family." Three family heads said as they departed. The remaining families couldn't afford to risk it.
"As for the rest of you, while going through this period, taxes are hereby lifted for the first two months. Members from my household will conduct inspections while straightening things out." Liang Yu looked to steward Chen Deng. "No reason to let someone so corrupt continue to live."
"Please spare me!"
"Break his bones and throw him in jail. In 30 days he will be hanged after a reading of his crimes." Liang Yue ordered. A guard moved swiftly disabling the steward. "Linlin.."
"Yes?" She responded quickly enough.
"You are stricter than Liang Jian. Take control of the guards and see what needs to be fixed until I can get with you later."
"What about me?" Liang Jian asked.
"In charge of getting property lines as well as who has stolen what taken care of." Liang Yu said simply.
