"I'm sorry I wasn't able to pick you up this morning."
Youngjae pleaded while standing in front of the door of the clinic. His eyes were moist and swollen like he only woke up from the bed. Though his clothes appeared neat, his hair was messy with strands of hair covering his face and forehead.
"You could have called me or sent me a message that you are going to be late."
She mumbled with a firm voice. When he tried to capture her eyes, she quickly avoided his gaze. They were soft and pleading and her chest felt heavy from ignoring his apology.
"I lost my phone last night. I dropped it at the pier after I came back to check the problem for the late shipment."
"Pier?"
"I manage my family's shipping company. I had to stay there until the afternoon."
