บท 62: Earlier and The Ground
Earlier.
"Golf squadron sortie on the grounds and after arming yourselves proceed to scouting the perimeter outside of the camp, eliminate any mutated creature you find, report once the task is done so we can further the expansion, understood?" Garand Smith.
"Sir, yes sir!" Golf Squadron.
"Good! disperse and prepare for your duty!" Mr.Smith said before saluting and moving back to the tent where admirals gathered for meetings, the admirals decided to make the tent their unified base of affairs so that it would be easy to assist each other if there were problems to come.
"Hows the young man doing?" Mr.smith.
"Still asleep, the doctor has already diagnosed that he should wake up in a few days and that he doesnt have fatal injuries" Sophy Schneider.
"That damned ape got us real good, it chipped a small percentage of the united naval forces soldiers but that small percentage is already quite significant presenting our current situation" Alek lebedev.
"This just proves that there will always be something stronger, we might have had an unlucky situation but let me share some good news, our forces arrived at their designated locations and are starting to contribute to the safezone projects" Aron burns.
"That is good news to hear, the faster they finish the safezone project, the faster we can call for reinforcements, with our current numbers i dont believe we can take over the island with that ape around" Mr.Smith.
"I agree, that beast can even block rockets and that rage mode it entered seems to hide more enhancements than just strength" Aron burns.
"Ive sent a squadron out to scout the unmarked perimeter hoping that they would bring good news and even clear the surrounding area of potential hazards" Mr.Smith
"Good call, ill send a squadron as well to assist on the task of clearing the forest, its times like these that we need to bury our grudges and help each other, otherwise humanity would be doomed" Alek lebedev stated before standing up and exiting the tent to go and order a squadron from the eurasian empire.

The forest, Golf squadron location.
The sound of gunfire resounded loudly as each member gunned down rats that were half their height.
"Damn serg, if i had these in my house id leave the place immediately these look like they would topple the building easily" Golf member 1.
"Yeah id burn my own darn house if i ever see these in it but id evacuate the missus first or atleast arm her to hunt the rodents" Golf Sergeant.
"The serg always finds a way to flaunt his missus with us single dogs haha, you know serg i just got a fiancee and we wouldve begun planning our wedding if this event didnt descend, i hope my lovely is okay" Golf member 2.
"Damn can you two please consider our feelings, i wanted to be a soldier due to the phrase that women liked a man in uniform but damn is my face really that bad that even in uniform no women would come to me?" Golf member 3.
"Haha you have a face that only a mother would love hahaha!" Golf member 2.
The rest of the golf squadron laughed at their friends predicament when suddenly the ground vibrated strongly as if there was an earthquake, the squadron became vigilant and stood back to back as the shaking kept on going.
"Keep your eyes peeled fellas i dont believe this is an ordinary earthquake" Golf Sergeant.
Suddenly the ground below one of the men became soft and the mans legs dropped in as if he was in quick sand.
"Damn it, guys help me out will you!" Golf member 4.
Two members of the golf squadron grabbed his arms and pulled strongly to pull him out only to hear him suddenly screaming.
"AHHH! PULL ME OUT! PULL ME OU-ACKKK!!" Golf member 4.
The two men pulled as hard as they can but couldnt pull their ally out and even saw him sinking further, crimson dripping from the mans lips as he wailed in pain while sinking further and further, the two had no choice but to let go and look at the soil stained with the blood of a friend and ally.
"Damn it quickly find elevation or find a rocky surface to stand on! there are creatures below the soil!!" Golf Sergeant.
The squadron immediately heeded his orders and climb unto rocks and trees for elevation, their guns pointed towards the soil, sweat dripping from their brows as they waited for the beast to surface.
Minutes passed.
An Hour passed.
"Serg you think its gone to look for new prey?" Golf member 2.
"No i dont think so, if it moved away there should be that same shaking as earlier but after it attacked theres been no shaking of sorts, i believe it waiting below the soil for an opportunity to attack" Golf Sergeant.
"Should we radio in on base camp to help us?" Golf member 2.
"Dont, itll just increase casualties if we do" Golf Sergeant.
Just as the sergeant finished talking, the ground shook and a tree sunk into the soil immediately along with the soldier on it, it happened so fast that they didnt have any time to react nor scream.
"Damn it! howd it find us?!" Golf Sergeant.
