A silence falls over the room. 

Felix clears his throat. I think I have an idea of what is coming next.

What a pity, they both looked so happy. If only they could stay that way forever. But unfortunately, Felix has a question that needs to be answered, the very question for which he came here for. 

He really is pitiful, this boy. To have lived his entire life with issues, even before he suffered the war. To have grown up the way he did…

I understand why he would want that question answered now that he has grown a bit. Back then he was young and hopeful, and he dared not ask why his life was that way, why he had to be raised in secret, atop a tower where no one can find out about him. To him back then, it was not a problem, both it and the hatred of his father. To him, it was a mere fact of life to be accepted.
