"babe, are you busy this afternoon?" Carl asked Darius who was in the shower.

"not really; why? What's up, sweetheart" Darius endearingly asked his mate, who was still in bed despite having spent the whole morning with his mate and in that very bed.

"Nothing really; I was just hoping you could take the evening off, our schedules are getting tighter by the day, and I just want to spend some time with you," Carl said like they weren't together almost half the day.

Darius couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of the royal beta still needing more time off to spend with his charming enforcer. They were a team, but before that, they were mates though their duty to Alexei came first before their bond. It was a complicated situation, but it was so for all the wolves. 

"is that the royal beta talking or my beautiful mate?"
