CHAPTER START---

Standing atop the monolith Yang made, Thalie looks out through her helmet at the raging fires and soon-to-be-dead soldier trapped on this battlefield.

'Swords and a storyteller,' she thinks to herself as she lifts her weapon.

Her new spear, seven feet long from point to base.

Made from floor ninety-seven Mythril and Adamantite. Perfectly crafted together to become Durandal with the addition of metric tons of enchanted metals from Althena.

The main body is a standard spear with a large blade at the tip, two smaller spikes jutting out at the base of the main blade at a perpendicular angle, and at the base of the spear is another blade, smaller but more narrow and easily lethal.

The entire silver weapon was covered in intricate gold designs layered atop it and small nearly invisible enchantment carved into it.

Lifting the spear out of the ground, betraying its appearance the weapon itself was impossibly heavy. Far surpassing the weight of Urga which was forty pounds, and Yang's weapon which was over two hundred pounds.

Thalie's weapon was an impossible two tons, four thousand pounds, as if she was holding three average cars in her hand.

Thalie lifts it with ease, the enchantments not making it lighter in any way, but allowing the weight to intuitively not affect anyone who was allowed to wield it, namely members of the Trifecta and Hephaestus herself. Although the goddess wouldn't be able to lift it.

The enchantments simply allow Thalie to not be dragged around by the weight if she didn't want to or prevent her from falling through wooden floors when walking indoors, the moment she drops the weapon or chooses to manipulate the enchantments mentally however it becomes two tons of dead weight.

Reaching into one of the slots on her armor she withdraws a small disk, focusing magic into it a display of the area for miles around is projected. Noticing only a few red dots on the battlefield she shakes her head.

"I only see two dozen more here, that means the last few are in Rakia," she says to Yang.

"That doesn't change the plan, we accounted for that anyway."

"Right." Thalie looks to the battlefield and sees an armory convoy matching the position of the markers.

Welf made this magic item to track his personal sigil. If it's carved into any Welf Crozzo Magic Sword the disk would detect it within a few miles, only excluding registered Magic Swords. And as of right now only their personal items were registered, any other Magic Swords they brought were in Yang's inventory which made them impossible to detect.

"War God's Blessing," Thalie activates her magic. The overlay of her golden spartan armor forms over her golden physical armor of the same design, giving an intimidating image.

Her weapon reacts as intended, a green ribbon with gold edges and enchanted runes forms on the shaft of her weapon connecting to the base of the blade. Two smaller ribbons form, acting as banners closer toward the base of her weapon. One proudly carrying Hephaestus's sigil. The other carrying The Trifecta sigil.

Keeping with Welf's pattern her new weapon is the latest of his creations.

Mosoka, meaning to carry dreams, is the culmination of Welf's desire to complete this adventure and achieve greater things with his friends, for his friends.

Ikari, meaning wrath, is the embodiment of his feeling toward his past and Rakia.

And now Thalie wields Hokori, meaning pride, proudly acting as the banner rod for her familia and her team. A powerful and unique growth-type weapon to replace Liberty.

Raising her weapon she throws it out toward the mobile armory station.

BOOM!

The air shatters as four thousand pounds breaks the sound barrier.

Like a divine golden arrow, it descends onto the battlefield, a faint green wind hidden by the blinding light as it makes an impact.

The magic swords are immediately destroyed, Welf's relatively amateurish creations not being able to stand against his latest masterpiece.

Dozens of soldiers are killed by the resulting shockwave of green magical wind, the unfortunate few who survive at the very edges are slashed into pieces by shrapnel and wind, forced to slowly bleed out as they watch the battle unfold around them.

Watching the destruction unfold Thalie feels a few battalions of men gathering into formation to fire arrows. Her Primal Awareness skill acts as what Yang insists on calling a 'spider-sense,' not that anyone here knows what that means.

Turning toward the soldiers she spots them assembling to fire in her direction and reaches out with her hand.

A secondary explosion occurs where Hokori was embedded into the earth as it rockets through the air propelled by its own wind magic and soars toward her. Holds her arm out she easily catches the weapon, not even having to take a step back as it perfectly stops in her hand.

"How did I ever live without this," she says while pointing the spear forward. A blast of wind knocks the wall of arrows out of the sky before it can rain down onto her and Yang.

"Having range in nice," Yang says as looks over to Thalie. "But remember your weapon doesn't operate like Mosoka. That spear is just an elemental battery made of Durandal that can grow with you. Your neutral magic replaces the wind magic I stored inside it for it to work, it's got more than you'll probably ever exhaust because it's me but don't ever lose track of how much wind you can make before it's empty," he reminds her.

"Right," she gives an understanding nod. "I'll go deal with the other swords and get our witness..."

With those words Thalie jumps toward the archers who fired at them. With a twirl of her weapon, she releases a gust of wind, knocking herself to the side and effectively jumping in mid-air, much like Yang did when he first got his magic.

The second volley of arrows that were fired easily miss her as she twirls once again and maneuvers out of their firing line.

"C'mon," she mutters to herself while building more and more magic into Hokori. Her spear shines with so much golden light that it completely hides her body as she plunges down toward the earth. With the battalions of men within a hundred meters, she slams the blade into the earth and unleashes the wind magic.

'Windstorm?' Thalie thinks to herself as a vortex of green wind rages around her, rapidly expanding and carving large five-inch wide cuts into the earth in a large spiral pattern spreading outward with her at the very middle.

As the wind settles down and she can finally hear herself think again she looks around to see the immediate area around her completely clear, bits and pieces of soldiers and materials spread all around as if they were thrown into a massive blender.

Not paying that any mind she leaps into the fray proudly carrying her banners. Eager to test out her new weapon while asking herself one simple question.

'How the hell does Yang create and remember all those attack names?'

Not long after Thalie joined the battlefield the conflict was quickly closed. Between Welf having a dramatic breakdown and her eagerly testing out her new weapon, Rakia didn't stand a chance, no army in the world could stand a chance.

Standing on a massive scorched battlefield, overwhelmed by the scent of melted iron, burnt flesh, and molten stone, Welf collapses onto his knees as his adrenaline high ends.

"Gah...damn it," he pants, sheathing Ikari and tapping Mosoka to the ground he absorbs the heat and cools the earth below him. Removing his half-melted, completely ruined helmet, his face is revealed to be covered in sweat with small burns on his cheek.

The fight was easy, truly. But he was exhausted more than most dungeon bosses could push him. In his rage and lack of clarity, he was wasteful with his magic, constantly releasing uncontrolled fire and heat, so unfocused he couldn't even make the concentrated constructs on his weapon that has become his default move lately.

Feeling his magic reserves fine but the strain on his mind very present he reaches into his equipment pouch and removes an Elixir, quickly chugging the entire vial.

Placing Mosoka on his back he sits on the floor with his hands on his knees, leaning forward and staring at nothing as the massive blue walls of fire finally stop.

Not even a minute later he hears two pairs of boots behind him.

"You ok man?" Yang asks.

"Mhm," Welf responded numbly.

Suddenly a stream of cold water is dumped onto the smith, he doesn't even react. This is what usually happens after they get into fights that can melt their armor, Yang immediately cools them off.

Judging from the ruined helmet, melted chest plate, and other major parts, Yang thought it best to cool him off.

"Thanks," Welf says as the steam wafts off his body.

"Can I go on ahead while you deal with this?" Thalie asks Yang, holding a level one footsoldier in the air with one hand, the terrified young man not making a sound.

"Yeah he'll be a good witness," Yang says. "Not like you two left anyone else alive here," he gestures to the destroyed battlefield.

"Only need one witness to tell the story," Thalie says. Casting a worried glance to Welf who was still facing away from them, just staring into the horizon she raises a brow to Yang.

He gives her a reassuring nod telling her it'll be alright.

"Stick to the plan," Yang says. "On the way to the capital pick up the king, prince, and Ares. I'll carry the witness with us and drop him off when Welf and I get there," he gestures to Welf and lowers his voice slightly. "He needs a few minutes, then we'll meet you at the palace, just get the war council and anyone else important in one spot, when we get there you can go looking for the swords while Welf does his thing."

"Alright, but if you keep me waiting there won't be a city when you get there," Thalie says as she knocks the end of her spear to the ground and rockets into the air on a gust of wind.

As she's at the height of her arc she twists in mid-air and releases another blast of wind, constantly propelling herself through the sky in the direction of Rakia's capital.

Watching Thalie leave, Yang turns to the designated witness and waves him away, the earth rises up to encase him in a solid ball in response to allow him and Welf to speak openly.

Walking over to Welf he withdraws a case of Elixirs and sets them down beside the man.

"So...that was some showing just now," Yang says in a bored tone while standing beside Welf.

"Don't remind me," Welf remains seated on the floor and slowly begins using the Elixirs.

"Didn't know you could get that angry,"

"Neither did I, but it just...I don't even know."

"You feeling to quit, because you're already this deep so---"

"No, I want this done," Welf looks up at Yang as he opens an Elixir. "The war council and anyone else who gets in our way, then I'm fucking done with Rakia, and the Elves, this...this doesn't feel like I expected."

"I could have told you that, but you wouldn't have listened. Pain is the best teacher," Yang shrugs.

"Yeah," Welf sighs, knowing he needed to suffer through this to understand. "That's why you made this plan? To keep your hands clean and avoid feeling like shit?"

"Mmm, nah. I made it because I haven't met a single person in this world that can think long term, but I have the experience advantage so maybe that's a bit too harsh."

"What do you mean?" Welf asks as he pours an Elixir over his head.

"Well, my world advanced a lot faster than you can imagine. It took less than seventy years to go from a simple paper and wood flying machine to walking on the moon."

"What?!" Welf's eyes widen in surprise.

"Yeah, war helps a lot with innovation in technology. The entire world was in an arms race for a while and that's what could start because of our involvement here, not that I care that much. But when I leave suddenly The Trifecta look vulnerable and people start getting cocky, thinking they can threaten Orario or maybe just my team, but..." he gestures for Welf to finish the thought.

"Mmm... If you're barely involved, then the witness tells everyone that Thalie and I were enough and people hesitate to challenge us even after you leave, right?"

"Right, if I'm never a piece on the board then they can't see me not being there as an opening," Yang says with a smirk.

"You know," Welf gets up as he's already done healing and refilling his magic. "For someone who doesn't like fighting and warfare, you're really fucking good at it."

"Hahahaha, compared to my world yours is still a baby in the ways of war," Yang gives him a sinister smile before he puts back on his helmet. "You haven't even had one continental war yet and we've had two world wars, it's in my blood."

"And your bed, I just found one more reason war god Freya is obsessed with you, even if she doesn't know it."

"Ugh, just lead the way to the capital, I'm the only one here who doesn't know where the hell it is," Yang sighs.

"Try to keep up," Welf laughs as he draws his weapons.

With Ikari in his left hand and Mosoka in his right, both in reverse grips facing the floor. He rockets toward the sky. As he ascends he spins around, leaving a swirling pattern of two lines of crimson flames reaching up toward the clouds.

"Tch, show off," Yang rolls his eyes as he casually grabs the Earth Prison holding their witness, and rockets into the sky, easily catching up to Welf.

Toward the capital, the finale of Rakia's one-day war approaches...
