ตอน 269: 268. Homecoming
Regarding Poseidon, the crew can only ask Shirahoshi to not misuse her power to communicate and control the Seakings. She gets scared easily, so they are worried she might use that power unknowingly when something that scares her happens.
They also ask her family to watch over her and it's better to let her train her ability. The last thing they want is Shirahoshi's power going out of control. Unlike the other 2 ancient weapons, Poseidon is a living being, so emotions can affect what she does.
"Shirahoshi, keep this kunai with you at all times. Throw it to the ground or trees that connect to the ground when you are in grave danger. I will come to you immediately unless I am also in grave danger and can't spare any power to go. Keep in mind to only use it when you are in grave danger."
Jon gives Shirahoshi a marked kunai so he can teleport to her location anytime. Her power will get exposed sooner or later and power hungry people will want to use it. Even if not for her power, many assholes will still try to capture her for her beauty and identity as the mermaid princess.
Shirahoshi is very happy to get a present that is also an item meant to protect her. Jon also tells the Royal Family to contact them anytime they need help. After knowing how dangerous Ancient Weapons are, the Straw Hat Pirates know they can't let these weapons loose.
The crew stays in Fishman Island for 3 days before going to Sabaody. Obviously the first thing they do on Sabaody is going to Shakky's bar to share the happy news. Rayleigh is actually home now because he has been waiting for them.
Another celebration is held in Shakky's bar as the Straw Hats tell their stories. They compare the things they faced with what Roger Pirates faced. Rayleigh says there are quite a lot of different things they faced on the sea before on their way to Lodestar and even Laugh Tale.
Most of the weather they faced was different and when Roger Pirates went to Laugh Tale, there wasn't any mist surrounding the island. Instead, it was surrounded by a strong fatamorgana illusion that made them lose their way for a long time.
"This means the sea around Lodestar and Laugh Tale keeps changing overtime. No wonder it is very difficult to reach both islands. If the sea keeps changing, then even the same crew can face different weather changes and they might even fail to go there for the 2nd time."
"But there might be times when the weather changes are mild which will make it easier for ships to sail."
"Yeah, there's that possibility too. But we don't know when and the possibility itself is very slim. This is the New World we are talking about. A place where the sea can split without any notice. It's highly unlikely that the end part of such a place will have mild weather. At the very least, when we and Roger Pirates sailed there, the weather changes were ridiculous."
"Well, I just say that there is such a possibility even if it's really low. We never know. Someone might be lucky enough to encounter that possibility in the future."
"That will be one heck of a luck."
They talk happily while drinking and eating. The Flying Fish Riders also join their party. These guys have become much stronger now because Rayleigh actually trained them. It's not at the level of Luffy's training, but it's enough to make these guys the best bounty hunters on Sabaody.
After Sabaody, their next destination is Water 7. Franky wants to share what he has learnt so far to Iceburg who wants to make Water 7 a floating island to prevent it from being drowned by Aqua Laguna. What Franky has learnt will surely help them do this project faster and better.
But obviously, Franky can't share everything even to Iceburg. The technology he learnt in Laugh Tale is very dangerous if used wrongly. Even if Iceburg uses it for good causes, others may not be like that. It's just like how Tom's Sea Train can be used for bad things by the previous World Government.
So Franky only shares what's needed for this project to avoid any disaster in the future. It's better to be very careful now than to be sorry and regret their decision in the future. After all, there is no medicine for regrets.
Also, obviously the Straw Hats have a big party in Water 7 with all citizens. But now they make sure to not use too much of their money and also use the city's money because it's the city's idea to hold a party, not theirs.
They also use the meat of Seakings they caught to reduce the cost. The crew always stocked a lot of Seaking meat since they almost starved when Sanji left to Whole Cake Island. Jane's inventory is very big and Jon has storage scrolls anyway, so they can always stock a lot of food ingredients.
They stay in Water 7 for a week because there are a lot of things Franky needs to teach Iceburg. He wants to help Iceburg makes the blueprint as much as he can before leaving. Then after a week, they finally leave Water 7 and go to their next destination, Alabasta.
"This town looks different."
Nami looks around the port town, Nanohana which looks very different since they left. Almost all the buildings here are new and the town is bigger now. The buildings also look fancier and the people seem to be wealthier now.
"Well, they must've rebuilt the town because it was destroyed when Blackbeard Pirates attacked. My fight with them destroyed almost the whole town, after all."
"Ah, I forgot about that incident."
"So they didn't have any choice but to rebuild the town, huh? It seems they also used that chance to make this port town better than before. A port town is the 1st gate for outsiders to enter their Kingdom, after all. So its appearance, facilities, and service are very important. It's a good decision to rebuild everything with a new concept."
"Well, that's that. Let's finish our business here quickly and go to Alubarna."
"Heeh, can't wait to see your princess, aren't you?"
"I won't say I don't. But there will be a problem if we stay here for too long too."
"Huh? Problem?"
Right after Jon said that, a lot of people are running toward them. These people heard that the man who saved their town is here, so they rushed to meet him. They haven't thanked him enough after he saved them, so now they want to thank him.
Jon appreciates their good will, but it's too troublesome for him, so he takes all his crewmates back to ship quickly and leaves Nanohana. They sail on the river to reach Alubarna faster.
An army of ducks have been waiting for them at the river port. Jon has contacted Koza to send some transportation for them. But they don't tell Vivi that they are coming because they want to surprise her.
Riding the ducks, the Straw Hats move quickly to Alubarna. The weather is especially hot today, but the ducks are still running at high speed. Jane keeps refilling their drink barrels with the water she stores in her inventory to quench their thirst.
Then after running for 2 hours and resting a few times, they finally arrive in Alubarna. They cover their faces and enter the castle through the backdoor. The royal family is having lunch now and the Straw Hats just barge in, surprising everyone.
"Oi King, hand over your daughter!"
Jon grins while opening the cloth covering his face. The shocked Vivi gets even more shocked before running and hugging Jon while the others are relieved that it's not an attack.
"What a way to make an entrance."
