บท 41: Switched Off

“Of course, I am!” he said with a horrified look. “Are shadows not real? What a dumb question!” His answer served as a stimulant for the pain in my head to intensify. I could hear ringing inside my ear. It was the glare of the light that was adding to my discomfort and misery. I stood and went casually to the dangling metal-chord switch to turn off the light. Before the darkness set in, after I had pulled the metal chord down, I heard him roared like a wounded jungle predator. “ Noo!” The blackness enveloped the room and the Shadow vanished with it. I stood in the darkness stunned. What a dumb fool I was! It was basic science! No lights—no shadows! I was euphoric as I practically danced in the dark and wildly laughing as if I had discovered the greatest invention on earth. I slewed a lion and I was rejoicing like a hyena.
