I freeze as I stare at the doctor. Is there another language where that means 'he's fine'?

"W.. What? What do you mean couldn't save him!? "I scream.

"I'm sorry dear. Too many internal injuries. He lost alot of blood and some serious damage was caused to some of his organs due to the punctures. " the doctor states.

I watch nurses begin to exit the room and I stand facing the door. I suddenly begin to hear the voices that make up silence as I walk into the room.

I suddenly understand how light could transfigure into darkness in just a blink of the eye.

I suddenly understand how one second is enough to destroy years of hard work.

I suddenly understand that death has always been lurking in the shadows. Awaiting the perfect time to steal life.

I suddenly understand the fact that life is not defined by the existence of oxygen alone as in this very moment I am living yet dead.
