ตอน 100: Chapter 79 Extra (White's Escape)
[A/N: I am removing Charlie Wax from recruits and instead there is Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson),Jack Ryan (John Krasinski), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan) and Yelena Belova sister of La Grange ( Florence Pugh).]
As the cargo plane touched down with a roar, it whipped past a waiting caravan, comprising dark Navigator 4X4's encircling an armored transport vehicle. A dozen armed officers emerged from the rear cargo hold, their figures stark against the backdrop of the descending ramp.
Among them, silhouetted against the light, emerged the GI Joe team, led by Roadblock and La Grange.
La Grange was wearing black catsuit. It zipped up the front and had fingerless gloves
Her suit is not leather, but rather a more tactical stretch Kevlar instead of the usual printed stretch fabrics used, making it bulletproof. The uniform also contains titanium-plated shin guards. Her boots have kinetic rebounding soles that add bounce to jumps.
While Roadblock wore a bulletproof tactical vest.
Their hands firmly clasped on Mr. White's arm, they escorted him into the heavy-armored transport vehicle.
Inside the Navigator, amidst the hustle and bustle, Roadblock sat checking the comms, while La Grange's gaze remained fixed on the transport vehicle ahead.
"Something feels off," La Grange muttered to Roadblock, her voice tinged with concern.
Roadblock, sensing the gravity of her words, inquired, "Why do you say that?"
La Grange's voice was tight with urgency as she relayed Kage's warning. "Kage informed me that Mr. White's intel implicates Organization Quantum's sleeper cells entrenched within every government and intelligence organization. The General told evryone that it was Kage's involvement, given his consistent efforts to thwart these infiltrations, ensuring the safety of GI Joes. Furthermore, the moment Mr. White was apprehended, a sudden flood of information about his capture reached the highest levels of government because of White's sending an SOS, General Hawks was pressured into transferring him to a secure facility for interrogation, under intense pressure from above."
Roadblock's expression turned grave as he absorbed the implications. "You think they're trying to orchestrate his release?" he queried, his tone laced with apprehension.
La Grange nodded grimly. "It's a possibility we can't afford to overlook," she replied, her eyes reflecting the weight of the situation.
As the GI Joe team's Navigator streaked along the highway, suddenly, chaos erupted. A surface-to-air missile struck the Navigator behind them, engulfing it in a fiery explosion, hurtling it skyward in a blaze of destruction.
The driver desperately yanked the steering wheel as another missile slammed into the road ahead, blasting a gaping hole in its path. Tires shredded, brakes screeched, but the vehicle tumbled uncontrollably as yet another missile struck the other end of the bridge, sending shockwaves of destruction rippling through the air.
Amidst the mayhem, La Grange and Roadblock's vehicle came to a halt at the edge of a chasm, overturned and battered. Disoriented people staggered out of their cars, only to be met with the chilling sound of a UAV tearing through the sky.
With urgency, La Grange and Roadblock scrambled out of the wrecked Navigator as a chopper rose ominously from beneath the bridge, flanked by six commandos.
Roadblock's voice cut through the chaos, commanding the bewildered bystanders, "Get back in your cars! Get down!"
Bullets tore through the air as the commandos opened fire, forcing La Grange and Roadblock to seek cover while their Navigator bore the brunt of the assault, its windows shattering and civilians caught in the crossfire.
La Grange amd Roadblock takes a nanotech component from their tactical vest. The component is sleek, with a metallic sheen, and seamlessly blends into her suit when not in use.
When a weapon is summoned, the nanotech armor transforms. Small, intricate pieces shift and reconfigure to form a pistol. The transformation is smooth and fluid, almost as if the metal is alive, the nanotech pieces assemble rapidly with a series of clicks and mechanical whirs.
Both La Grange and Roadblock retaliated with there guns, exchanging gunfire with the menacing chopper which veered away momentarily, allowing La Grange to spot a wounded woman on the ground.
"There's a woman down!" La Grange shouted to Roadblock.
"I see her," Roadblock acknowledged before rushing to her aid. Meanwhile, La Grange sprinted towards the armored transport vehicle, urgently demanding access to the prisoner.
Before the drivers could comprehend his request, they were cut down in a hail of bullets, leaving La Grange shocked and scrambling for cover. Amidst the chaos, Scarlett emerged to assist the injured, while an agent from the tarmac engaged the chopper in a desperate firefight.
But the danger escalated as La Grange spotted the approaching UAV, armed with another deadly missile. Despite their efforts to flee, the missile found its mark, engulfing a fellow Joe and their vehicle in a devastating explosion.
La Grange tried shoot down the attacker, but no effect. She pulled multiple nanotech component pistols, but it was not having the much effects.
Enraged and running low on ammunition, La Grange continued to fire at the chopper before realizing her gun was empty.
Then she remembered the Armoured transport having Heckler & Koch G36K assault rifle.
With smoke bombs providing cover, she dashed back to her SUV, seizing an upside-down weapons case from the chaos.
Amidst the chaos and desperation, Roadblock swiftly retrieved another pistol from his nanotech component. With precise aim, he fired at the chopper, providing cover fire to his teammate as she retrieved a gun from the weapon's case.
As the commandos descended on ziplines from the chopper, Roadblock's keen marksmanship proved deadly. With a well-aimed shot, he brought down one of the commandos, disrupting their advance.
However, the remaining commandos wasted no time in retaliating. They swiftly eliminated the fallen commando and continued quickly converging on the transport vehicle, the commados wasted no time, unleashing a barrage of orange foam on the transport vehicle's side.
While La Grange seized the gun just as the chopper pilot spotted her, sending the UAV hurtling towards her with a remote control.
"The UAV's coming back! Get outta there!" Roadblock's voice rang out.He tried to fire at Chopper and distract the UAV pilot,but his pistol was out of bullets.
With the UAV threat closing in, La Grange swiftly slid the gun case onto the asphalt and bolted out of the SUV. But before she could escape, the UAV unleashed a missile, engulfing the Navigator in a fiery explosion, sending La Grange tumbling onto another car.
Meanwhile, the commandos attacked the foam-covered transport vehicle with a sledgehammer, shattering the side and neutralizing the guards inside. Mr. White urged them, "Move quickly", prompting them to cut his cuffs with bolt cutters before making a run for the chopper.
As La Grange hastily assembled the gun, she spotted the approaching UAV and instinctively fired, causing one of its wings to explode. The crippled UAV careened towards the chopper, narrowly missing it but striking the bridge structure.
In the midst of the chaos, La Grange aimed at Mr. White, inadvertently hitting one of the commandos. With Mr. White and the others taking cover, La Grange attempted to close the gap to the transport vehicle, dodging fire from the crashed SUV.
Finding no other way, she hurled the gun ahead and leaped between severed sections of the bridge, only to lose her grip and plummet towards the water below. Desperately grasping at exposed rebar, she managed to cling on, watching helplessly as Mr. White was hauled into the chopper.
Summoning all her strength, La Grange executed a climber maneuver, hauling herself back onto the bridge just as Mr. White disappeared into the distance. With a fierce determination, she unleashed a barrage of gunfire at the fleeing chopper, then leapt onto the hood of a car, firing until her gun clicked empty.
As her eyes met Mr. White's, who smiled at her a sense of dread washed over La Grange.
