บท 40: Chapter 40: Confrontation

While Anua and Kai fought the lizardy presence on the cliff, another singular guest tried to pass through the guardhouse in front of Marblechase’s Complex gate.

“Name’s Merton. Hugh Merton. Durbither’s employee. My insignia is there. You can check. Now get your ass out here and lemme in.

Merton was an old man that looked far younger than he actually was. His full-sized beard and curly hair were black but it was unclear whether he dyed them himself to hide the age. He wore a camouflaged jacket and a black fedora hat. He was in the driver seat of his Martin DB4, positioned by the window of the guardhouse, the car ready to get in.

“Sir… But the poachers have already arrived. They are performing the task as we speak.”

“What!? How? Who? I was the one supposed to come to solve this mess!”

“They are… Anua Towa and Kai Erickson…”
