บท 6: Supreme Teacher
J B said, "Ok enough messing around. I plan to finish the explanation before dinner arrives at the table."
He then picked up the bag he was carrying around. Took out, a laptop, and showed them a screen."
"What is this?" asked Wanrui.
"My new career! I am a published author now."
Both Wanrui and Shuyuan looked at screen and followed the opened tabs as J B guided them.
"So what's that big deal? You just started writing a few chapters" Wanrui said.
"Wait a minute Wanrui, check the titles of the books." Shuyuan had noticed something.
"Huh. 'Contemporary Economics and Trade' and 'Future of Internet Technology'? Brother Jiang, don't tell me this is some sort of internet scam? How do you know these things?"
"Silly girl, of course not. Check the number of views and donations and comments."
She looked at it and was shocked. Although it clearly showed logged in with Author's ID she was still sceptical.
"See these are the advanced copies of my books." He then took out 3 books and shared it with them. The binding was extremely good. The front cover had great art and the back cover had a pic of J B with a description.
J B. A Mysterious young man. Entrepreneur, Author, Scriptwriter.
The pic looked even more charming. The girls couldn't help but being shocked.
"Hey, you won't say that is you, right?" Wanrui couldn't believe it.
"Silly girl, why can't that be me? Did god give you exclusive rights to for good looks? Or are you jealous of my looks or are you worried that other girls will fawn over my looks? Its professional work you know so make-up and photo-shoot enhance the looks. Say, don't girls put on make-up? So what if I used a little? And it's better that way, so that when I am in public, people won't recognize me. I hope you understand."
For a moment both Wanrui and Shuyuan were silent. Then Shuyuan asked, "What about the description?"
"Didn't I say may be I was a businessman or an actor before? J B laughed and then continued, as for my knowledge, you both are top students of the Finance department, ask me anything and see if I can satisfy your curiosity.
The girls asked a few finance related questions. J B replied politely and even pointed out a few mistakes in a few famous theories. The girls couldn't help but be astonished.
"Well, if I tell you everything, you will never believe me. But not telling you also doesn't feel right to me. That's why I decided to tell you a few things. I trust that you will trust me. Even my parents are unaware, and it is not the right time to tell them. I will tell you a few secrets but only a few at a time. Remember, I am trusting you. I only hope you will believe me."
"Ok fine, I will try" Wanrui said.
"You know around middle school when I started skipping classes? All my grades started dropping and and we slowly started drifting apart?"
"Of course, I remember."
"That was because I was going special training with my teacher. I don't know how, but this mysterious teacher found me. Said I have high learnability and promised me many things. I was a child, I was lured by his promises. But he wasn't lying. Well they did keep their promises and never harmed. But he had certain conditions."
"What conditions?" Wanrui asked.
"I had to hide what I learnt. I couldn't show my abilities. For starters, I have a near photographic memory. I could easily score 100% in exams but wasn't allowed to. It was very painful period you see."
"That…" Wanrui didn't know what to say.
"Of course its like a fictional movie. Very hard to believe. I was trained in Finance, Management, Technology. Even as a teenager I had to go through Military training with one of the Special Ops team. They even taught me some advanced self-defence Martial Arts." J B was full on 'God of Acting Skills' mode!
"I was dragged around the world to meet Experts of major fields. They were my secondary teachers. As for why I didn't pursue University education was because by the time I was 18 I was already a dual PhD holder. And that security job was another cover."
"Now finally, I have got my teacher's approval to start showcasing my skills one by one."
Suddenly the atmosphere became heavy. Both Wanrui and Shuyuan felt into contemplation.
After sometime, J B looked at them both and said, "I know you have a lot of questions, feel free to ask."
"What is the name of your teacher?" Shuyuan finally asked.
"I don't know." Jaing Bai replied meekly.
"How is that possible? Didn't you travel around the world with him?"
"Well I did, but you see… everyone called her teacher. It was after a couple of years I realized that she is the teacher of many experts and even they didn't know her name! Well if you want, I can take you to meet her, but now is not the time. She has told me she will meet you both when the time is right."
"Wait.. your teacher is a female?" asked Wanrui
"What do you mean by meet us both?" asked Shuyuan
They asked different questions but at the same time.
J B laughed, then he looked at Wanrui and casually said, "Why can't a teacher be a female? Does a mysterious teacher has to always be an old man with white hair? Don't tell me you are jealous of my teacher?" Wanrui turned red with embarrassment.
Then without waiting for her response, he looked at Shuyaun and said, "Of course both of you. How can I tell such a secret to you both if teacher didn't ask me to do so? Well in case of Wanrui I had asked for her approval. She knows that Wanrui was my first crush and we drifted apart because of teacher. Couldn't even remain proper friends. So, she feels a little guilty. Also when I was starting my career, she told me I can tell her all about myself but slowly."
He then turned towards Wanrui and continued "She said that if I tell you everything in an instant, the result will not be good. She warned me there it is a high possibility that one of two things happen. One being the care where Wanrui will not believe a word I say. Second being the case where Wanrui might even start thinking that I am too dazzling for her and run off being scared. I told her neither of those things will happen, because given proper explanation Wanrui will trust me no matter what and she is not weak enough to be scared of such a thing. She will fight for what she wants. As for what you really want, your heart knows better."
He then looked at Shuyuan and said, "You want to ask me why teacher asked me to tell you right?"
Shuyuan: "…"
J B continued, "Well how do I know? I don't even know why I was chosen."
