Rhaella Targaryen has suffered many things in her life, a long unhappy marriage with her brother, many stillbirths , fall of her house, death of her son
She thought she would die while birthing Daenerys, she was soo weak after the birth that even the men that came to kill her and her children thought her death was a foregone conclusion, but somehow she survived, while the men went after her only living children some of the loyal men sneaked her out
While she recovered Ser Bonifer Hasty found her and shipped her to Essos to stay safe, the young knight she fell in love with before her marriage was now a old man just like she was, their match was never meant to be, the difference in their standing was too much
Even so he helped her hide and stay safe while the seven kingdoms thought her dead ,she searched for her children but never found them but all was not lost, she found her good-daughter Elia and her granddaughter Rhaenys, they were sneaked out by Varys and his little birds, a dornish girl and her mother had died in their stead, even the velaryon babe who she came to see like her own died in the red keep, soo many innocents died due her husband's madness ,if she knew this would happen she herself would have killed Aerys when she had the chance
She , Elia and Rhaenys were hiding and roaming essos for years now, she would dye her hair black just like her good-daughter , thankfully no one has learned of their survival and they were able to move unnoticed, Ser Bonifer didn't have much but he did what he could to help them but all that changed few years ago, Bonifer moved them in a big manse in Volantis, furnished with everything, servants to serve them and unsullied as guards
Being a queen for most of her life she knew luxury, she was treated like a queen here and Bonifer didn't have the gold to do that, the Velaryons were helping them but from what she heard the Velaryons were in dire circumstances due to the rebellion so how can they help her, Bonifer and his men were looking into who was helping them, few moons ago he finally found a lead and went to Westros and today he finally returned but he was not alone, he came with a man with clearly Valariyan heritage
"Your grace, this is Aurane Waters brother of Lord Monford of house Velaryon,I went to Westros to meet him" Bonifer introduce the young man with him
"Your grace I come on behalf of Aegon Targaryen sixth of his name rightful heir to the Iron Throne"
"Lord Waters the only Aegon I know was the Velaryon babe who died in the rebellion" I said barely containing my anger
"Your grace I am talking about Aegon Warborn son of prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, I know this is a lot to handle but when your grandson knew that you lived he looked everywhere for you , the Princess and his sister, when he finally found you even though he could not bring you back he made sure that you were taken care of, now he can finally bring you back to your rightful place, all his grace is asking is to meet his family "
What is this mess, a grandson I didn't know existed was helping us for years now and is asking us to come back, all of this seems like a cruel joke played by the gods, giving us a glimpse of happiness before taking it all away
"Lord Waters you have come a long way, rest for now we will talk about this later" he nodded and left , it was only me and Bonifer in the room now
"Bonifer what the hell is this ?, You went looking for allies and came back with this,you better start explaining " I yelled without any queenly appearance
"Rhae I really went to meet the Velaryon allies and find out who was helping us, but Lord Waters was attending a nameday celebration in the north of Jon Snow, the bastard son of Eddard Stark"
"What does this Jon Snow has to do with anything?" I asked in frustration
"I am getting to it, I had heard of this Jon snow, so I went to the nameday celebration to meet Aurane Waters and see if I can meet this Jon snow but when I saw the boy I was shocked beyond belief, the boy has stark colouring but he looks just like Rhaegar,he is Rhaegar's son there is no doubt, Eddard stark hide the boy as his own bastard but his real name is Aegon, he is hiding in plain sight until he can take his rightful place, I met the boy Rhae, he has a fleet of 700 ships across the narrow sea, the north, riverlands and vale will support him if stakes his claim,you know I will never lie to you, he just wants meet his family he said you can come back to volantis if you don't want to stay "
So its true I have a grandson, and he was living alone as a bastard in the north, I should have been there for him but instead he was helping us when I didn't even know he existed, tears came to eyes just thinking about the boy
"How is my grandson Bon? Is he healthy, is he treated properly there? "
"Healthy ha , Rhae at 14 the lad towers over most men, the call him the White Wolf In the north, he rides in into battle with a white direwolf that is big as a horse, I saw him kill the mountain barehanded like it was nothing,the lad killed that 8ft tall giant of man like swatting a fly"
For a moment I felt nothing but a flash of anger "How could you let my grandson fight that beast? " My scream was heard all over the manse
He lets my 14 nameday old grandson fight that monster in human skin and comes and brags about it front of me, I will skin him alive
"Rhae no that's not how it happened, I tried to stop it but I was stuck in the crowd and it was over before I could reach the ring, Rhae I am very tired from my journey we will talk later " Bonifer practically runs out of the room
No I don't have time for this stupid old man, I have to go to my grandson and make sure he stays safe and doesn't do stupid things like this
