"If he leaves, you must swear on my life, to never turn your humanity off, no matter what the future sends your way," Zelina said and Alanor looked at the vampire leader with worry on his face. 

This right here was an oath, a dangerous one, and an oath that would mean that nothing he did was supposed to involve him running away from his reality, even if it was chaotic enough. 

It was a risk, and a big one and if Alanor agreed to it, then he would have to deal with all the shit that was coming in his diction.
