"I was born of loss, Grant. I am used to it, so don't waste your time trying to comfort a loser. You can go to sleep, besides it's not like I want the throne anyway," Cass said and let out a defeated sigh.

Nothing about his day had gone well and right now, the only thing he could think of was to call out for Alanor, and even then, he still wanted to hold on for a moment. 

Maybe he would really call Alanor when he felt like he was being overwhelmed. It was however sad that despite having his mate around, Cass couldn't rely on his mate. 

The man had betrayed him more than once and he wasn't going to give him another chance because that was all just a lie.

"You shouldn't say that," Grant began and Cass lifted his head, to look at the mate who was telling him to be positive.
