Since they had seen Alanor earlier, Grant had changed for the better, even when Cass went to Greroth, Grant had created a perfect cover for why the young wolf would leave with the enforcer's junior warrior.

It was almost like Grant was leaning into the mate bond and for the first time, it wasn't for his sake or because he wanted to go to Alanor, no. This time, Grant was leaning into Cass for who he was, who he had been, and even who he was already preparing to be.

Grant didn't care that his mate was the prince of the kingdom. All that mattered to him was to show Cass how sorry he was for everything that he had done in the six months they had been together.
