บท 25: Page XXV - Progress

"So what song are we going to play?" Victoria's group were under there in the basking illumination of the sun as it pierced through the windows.

"I didn't know that there's a room behind that wall." Theodore stated.

The tea set that was attached on the wall was actually a moveable door that can be opened to reveal the real music clubroom from behind it.

Complete with equipment. Noise cancelling walls, speakers, amplifiers, and all kinds of instruments. It was like walking in a music store, but everything there was yours.

A wall of glass was in front of them to see how they're performing, and behind them is like the library of instruments. Everything that was mainstream in the music industry was there.

Theodore stood by the side as the three of them went to their own places. It seems to have been set there beforehand. And this place is incredibly clean seeing how this is the first time this place has been opened this school year.

"Well, I have to go back to the library or somewhere. I feel like I'll be dragged to practice with them if they see me again." Theodore thought to himself.

"I was thinking that we'd make an original song." Victoria then announced.

"Eh?" Theodore began to sweat as he heard those words. "If we're doing an original composition of music then that means that I need to attend no matter what I'm doing isn't it!?" He then began to think of other ways on how to avoid this. "I don't want my peaceful days to be ruined by practicing and such. I hate piano in the first place."

"So that's why I made a piano composition and the three of you try to add something to it." Victoria opened up her bag and brought out a music sheet and placed it in front of her.

A light hearted music played throughout the entire room. A music that can be mistaken for the school's official theme. "I guess she took in mind that this is a song for the school."

They began to brainstorm on what they were going to do and after a few hours, they all called it a day and at six in the night, they all returned back to their own personal things to do.

Theodore then wandered around the school trying to find new places on where to go to escape those practices.

~~***~~

Sweat drenched from her body and steam could be seen emanating from her as she poured her bottled water on herself.

Men, women, it doesn't matter. Everyone's eyes was on her.

Some are attracted to her beauty, and some are admiring on how she's gone so far. In this academy, she's respected since she's the best in her own sport.

A towel then appeared in front of Gwyneth. "Tired?" Phoebe's shining smile managed to wipe away the exhaustion off of Gwyneth.

"I was. But not anymore." She then reached for the towel and wiped her face with it. "Thanks Phoebe."

"Training's over. You can now take a rest. Prepare for tomorrow."

"Yeah. See you later Phoebe."

Gwyneth then entered their locker room and changed clothes after taking a shower.

She picked up the guitar that was in her locker and began to wander around the campus finding a good place.

But no matter where she went, she still ended up at the same place. At that single tree, surrounded by bushes and grass.

Gwyneth then noticed something under the tree. "That guy... he's there again."

His body was laying down on the ground, both of his arms behind his head and a book covering his face.

The wind breezed through the both of them.

Gwyneth shrugged it off and went to the other side of the tree and opened up her case and grabbed the guitar on it.

She began to play around with the guitar as she plucked on the strings. It was like a random assorted notes that were slowly joining together to create a harmony.

She sang like no one was there. As she poured out her all to each and every word she let out. It was a peaceful sunset as she was singing.

But that scene instantly changed as her song began to build its own.

Fantasy.

Paradise.

Another life.

It was just something... out of this world.

At the distance you can see a maiden, living in a country side and a prince riding on a horse, born from royalty.

No matter how much cliche it got, it was still a story that still tugged the hearts of many.

No words were spoken between the two of them, but the image Gwyneth portrays perfectly tells the story of a tragic story between two people that met at the right time... but fate stood between them.

An uncontrollable phenomenon that the both of them couldn't do.

A tragic, beautiful story about two people who aren't meant to be.

"Interesting." The man took off the book on his face and sat straight up. It was none other than Theodore himself. He opened up the book and continued on reading.

"Hmm." Gwyneth continued on to sing on that stage with a single audience. Neither of them exchanged words and just let the flow of the world take on its course.

....

Several hours pass and its about eight at night and Gwyneth was packing up her things.

She then walked over to Theodore and reached out her hand, "Seems like we got off on the wrong foot earlier." She was talking about their previous encounter.

"Theodore Payne." He replied.

"Would you like to have a drink sometime?"

"Suggesting by your grin, its a no."

"HAHA! Well, I tried. But its gonna be great you know. You've listened to my singing twice now, shouldn't that count for some friendship points or something?"

"I like you when you're singing. Silent, and doesn't pry too much."

"Oof, that's harsh. Well, I haven't really let someone listen to me sing. And it feels like this is some secret." Gwyneth then showed a big grin. "So you better have to take responsibility until I let other people hear me sing!"

"Wow really? That seems so amazing! Cause I won't do it. Bye." Theodore then walked back to his dorm.

"Come back here sometime!" Gwyneth raised up her hand as she waved goodbye.

"Well... her voice does sound good." Theodore thought to himself.
