"Archbishop," Lumielle said, her golden eyes narrowing.
"Princess."
The taunt was reflected back at her, just as his red eyes reflected her golden ones. She didn't trust him but she trusted his appetite for bloodlust. "When will you do what I asked of you?" She questioned, her eyes lingering on where Cosette had stood just moments prior.
"Do you mind her maid?" Jenoix asked, he reached to touch her hair. Lumielle made no move to avoid it. Her fingers twitched and she wondered if it would be rude to smack his hand away. "I will carry through with it in haste."
Lumielle didn't doubt him, "There is supposed to be a party soon, I expect you to give me a satisfactory gift."
He smiled, gently kissing the ends of her tresses, "It will be a beautiful red ruby, one that your mother so preciously loved."
Lumielle didn't respond as he touched her cheek and the bruise vanished. With that, it must have been her cue to leave.
