บท 47: Regroup

Sounds and the cries of different creatures enveloped the slowly approaching noon. Traveling from place to place really did take the time away. Was it worth it? After all, Wraith had little fate in Baldur and his promise.

She didn't feel like he could keep his end of the bargain.

But she told him to trust her, and she didn't know if he did trust her. She had mutations and from what she experienced, everyone wanted to use her for her so called 'gifts'.

Seeing however was believing, and so she will see what will happen.

Scarecrow looked at her as he spoke, "You normally don't care about joining clans."

Wraith didn't look back at him, but what he said was true. Clans normally refuse those with mutations, for they taint the so called 'pure' tradition.

Ever since everyone was becoming aware of their emotions, and actually thinking. Did many individuals pair up with different species thus tainting pure blood. Before when they were senseless eating machines, they stayed to their own species.

Now, things were changing.

It would seem that death and love shared something similar. It mattered not on size or the race.

Anyone can die and anyone can love.

"I don't, but the promise of changing this pathetic world is rather high in my book.", replied Wraith continuing in a calm stride.

Scarecrow was silent at her response.

Traditions.

Rules.

Wraith hated it all, and she didn't care for anyone else. Why should she? No one has ever showed her any affection or positivity.

Thrash smugly scoffed, "This be a waste of time."

His words made Wraith look back at him in silence, he was probably right. Also, if that was the case why was he tagging along then.

"If you think that, then why are you still here.", replied Wraith in annoyance.

Thrash gave a smirk, "Maybe I'm bored?"

His words made her roll her eyes. This was why she was better off alone.

Though, she had mentioned that it would be until tomorrow when she would arrive to Baldur with the recruits. Now she wanted to get there faster, that way she didn't have to listen to them talk.

The other two were silent now, they were listening in on the words that were shared. Thrash noticed this as he looked at them curiously.

"How do you two feel about this?", Thrash had a good sized smile upon his features when he asked this.

Scarecrow looked at them in interest, while Wraith ignored them and their words.

The brute who had a red face gave a dry grin, "As long as I get to fight who cares."

Thrash smirked, "Razer you always had a knack for combat."

The one who was the size of a spinosaurus was known as Razer. That name Wraith would remember later on, it was best to remember names. If he was to backstab her in the future, she would remember him and give him the worst of experiences.

Razer smirked while looking at the tank of a brute at his side, this individual was somewhat larger than anything else around. His horns made him look like a demon, for they were solid black.

"Juggernaut, is also a fighter.", cackled Razer.

Wraith glanced over her shoulder, once she heard the other ones name.

Juggernaut was a mixed assortment of colors, he had a sharp crimson colored face. His body had a blueish gray hue, with sharp obsidian stripes upon his face and back. Wraith looked ahead, she was further ahead of the others following her.

Juggernaut let out a low but loud snort in response to Razer.

Scarecrow gave a brief smirk, "The one who is making this clan is definitely ready for fighting. So it works out eh?"

Razer chuckled, "Totally."

Their conversation was rather dull to Wraith, only cause she saw no interest in what they were talking about. Just simple chit-chat made her mood somewhat sour.

As they continued walking, Wraith began thinking about the first thing she was going to do once they take control of everything. She was thinking about it hard.

But of course she was going to get her revenge first, since it was her top priority.

As the time continued to move forward, Baldur flexed his claws as he waited for Wraith to return. Fiend merely laid on the cool ground as he watched Baldur curiously.

Sawtooth tapped his chin as he spoke, "I have been thinking, we should be thinking about taking over a territory?"

Baldur looked at him and he smirked, "Oh, I suppose that wouldn't hurt. But you have to remember I want to rule them all."

Sawtooth gave a smirk back, "Of course."

Fiend looked at Sawtooth before speaking, "There is a small clan of nothing but herbivores a little bit away from here. We could start there?"

Baldur looked at him with a dangerous glint in his eyes, "That sounds delightful. We can even take a few hostages, and use them?"

Sawtooth gave a chuckle, "I don't see why not?"

Baldur smirked as he looked at Fiend, "When the others get here, we should pay that clan a visit?"

Fiend sort of smirked before looking at the side.

Conscious herbivores were probably the most biggest of problems, only cause they were smart and cautious at the same time.

The only reason why they were a problem was cause of their strength in numbers. All herbivores had a great intelligence, more so than some carnivores.

They were patient, observant, and cunning.

Some herbivores even had a way of fatally harming a carnivore.

Between carnivores and herbivores, herbivores had their own way of running things. They even had different rules, and beliefs than some other clans.

Fiend knew this first hand for he watched that small herbivore clan come together in such a way that they had become quite intimidating.

Herbivores had a belief that they were placed on this world to organize it. They also had a deity that gave good fortune and prayer.

To carnivores it was rather silly.

Some if not everyone wanted to belong in this cruel world of survival.

So many clans wanted to belong in a world where there was no danger or conflict. To simply live in this world without fear was what every single person wanted. What they craved.

But peace could only go so far.

Fiend looked outward in the direction of the small herbivore clan in silence. What he saw was herbivores working together and bonding. This was probably cause of their own version of a 'God'.

Why did so many clans want to make up something like a 'Deity' or 'God'?

Perhaps they were to scared of death, and thus wanted to believe that there was something waiting for them when they perish.

It was just a petty thing that made them feel better. Fiend felt like that only cause so many feared death.

Conversations with those who are elderly actually believe that there is something waiting for them when they move on.

Fiend came from a clan that so many believed so hard in something that they thought it was true. They were brainwashed by the elderly, that was how he felt.

"How many are in that clan,", asked Sawtooth.

Fiend replied quite quickly after, "I would say about twenty?"

Sawtooth looked at Baldur who smirked coldly, "It matters not if there was five or twenty. This is going to be easy."

Fiend couldn't help but stare at him, it was clear that Baldur didn't fear anything. That and he was so confident in his ability that he could overthrow the clan.

Sawtooth gave a twisted grin, "Knowing you, Yeah it is going to be easy."

Fiend listened to them, he soon looked to the side as if expecting to see Wraith.

It was not much longer until Wraith returned, noticeably earlier than what was originally said. Baldur noticing her return saw the others that followed close behind her.

"You're early.", smirked Baldur.

Wraith gave him a nasty little smirk in return, "I figured you were not the type that liked to wait."

Baldur released a cool laugh. "You got me there."

Wraith looked back at Scarecrow in a glance before looking at the others. "Introduce yourselves."

Scarecrow looked at Baldur as he spoke, "I am Scarecrow."

Thrash shifted his head toward the others, "I'm Thrash, and those two be Razer and Juggernaut."

Baldur smirked, "I see."

Sawtooth looked at them as he said, "So, you are interested in our cause?"

Razer gave a smirk, "Yeah, that and the conflict?"

Sawtooth smiled in a sinister way, "Oh there will be fighting. Lots of it."

Razer looked excited about the information that was given.

One has to be a violent person if they wanted to fight so badly. It was rather surprising really, they were conscious yet held onto their cruel ways.

Baldur chuckled as he said, "We will be taking down anyone in our way. Does this interest you?"

Razer nodded before looking at Juggernaut who smirked. Thrash showed his fangs in a grin, "Can't wait for the slaughter."

Scarecrow nodded as he smiled.

Baldur looked at Fiend as he smiled darkly, "Speaking of which aren't we suppose to go to a certain clan?"

Fiend stood up, "Of course, follow me."

Fiend stalked off, he soon picked up on the many footsteps that followed him.

Wraith followed after them silently, she had a rather ominous grin upon her features. Since she was in a sour mood, she really wanted to let off some steam.

What better way to do it than to attack others who didn't expect it?

Could someone be purely evil? That was rather complicated to say.

To be purely evil one must do everything in their power that was bad or was considered as a crime.

Baldur was a tyrant, and usually tyrants were as evil as they come.

After sometime of walking, Fiend stopped looking out from under the cover of the trees. Ahead was a rather peaceful looking community of herbivores that worked together.

They obviously didn't sense the danger yet.

Baldur looked at them smirking, his eyes slowly looked around as if trying to determine who he should go after first.

Razer gave a dry and rather emotionless smile.

The sight of these herbivores will probably vanish, that was only cause some would not be spared.

Thinking about it, it was rather darkly humorous.

It was like things were repeating itself, for so many years the herbivores have always been tormented and terrorized by the carnivores.

That line from so many years ago has always been crossed, the only difference was that the herbivores were not going to be killed for food but for pure senseless fun.

What was more barbaric?

Killing to eat or killing just cause it was fun?

"Let's wait until tonight, that way they don't suspect a thing.", coldly smiled Baldur. "I like getting the upper hand."

Fiend nodded silently.

Scarecrow smirked clearly liking that suggestion.

Wraith simply shrugged in light frustration, so much for killing them now to improve her sour mood.

Baldur's clan has grown and he was definitely going to use them against anyone and everything. There will be constant fights and bloodshed. All of which he was looking forward too.

It was going to be a horrible experience for everyone if Baldur was to get his way.

It only takes one tyrant to throw the whole balance out of place. Not that Baldur cared. He was callous and rather selfish.

He wanted to take over only cause he can.

What would happen though if no one survived to rule?

That was hard to say, since there will always be someone to step up and take over. If not then the blind beasts would rule.

Wraith crossed her arms as she stared at the herbivores, everyone else moved away to wait until nightfall. Thing was she was not going to wait, she was going to do something and now.

She smirked walking through the shadows of the trees, she watched the clan closely looking for her chance to strike.

The herbivores were blind to the approaching danger, and Wraith wouldn't have it any other way. Baldur stopped looking back, he took note that Wraith was not behind them and he lightly smirked.

She couldn't wait obviously.

The tyrant watched her move closer to the herbivore clan, only cause he wanted to see what she could really do.
