Prof. Aspen turned to her voice and gave a her a big smile, it was as if he was almost happy to see her here, "Yes, Alaina you can come in. Good to have you back with us." He smiled genuinely at her and stretched his arm for her to take a seat.

Alaina awkwardly smiled back as she walked in. 

It was awkward because she didn't know whether or not the last statement was a sarcasm. Because the way he phrased it, it was as if she's been missing his classes for long but it was only just yesterday that she didn't attend, but the smile on his face was so genuine that it was saying he was not being sarcastic at all.

She didn't ponder on it for long though for she had other pressing issues to deal with, like Ivar Azai.

It was in her knowledge that Ivar would be sitting in the class here somewhere but she dared not look up to find him.
