After all, his approval did matter to her. He was her only family, after her aunt, he was the closest she could ask for, for a father figure and she would never wanna upset him or disappoint him.
"But I told him of my plans and he agreed to it. He said he could drop me off; I don't need to bring my own car as it would be left behind then. I didn't want to deny him any further so I agreed to it."
Finally braving up to the courage, Alaina sneeked a peek at her uncle's face, only to see Jake staring back with a simple and very normal facial expression. Normal as in, not so disapproval like, neither very enthusiast either. But at least he was shaking his head showing his disappointment or something. As they say, ignorance is a bliss, Alaina was happy not knowing too much of what was going on inside his head.
