บท 93: Cafeteria Trouble
*Diiiing*
The bell rang so all the gold students began to pack their belongings.
Iris quickly gathered her things and made her way out but a few students trailed behind her, whispering among themselves.
Iris knew that they wanted to ask her something so she halted her steps and turned around "Yes?" She asked indifferently.
One brave male student walked to Iris "Would you like to partner up for the assignment?"
The gold class was recently given an assignment to learn a spell but it requires two people to perform on each other.
The assignment was due in a few days and the students were mainly asking their friends to partner up. But there were still quite a few students who wanted to partner up with Iris, especially the guys.
She was beautiful but also very smart and they knew partnering with her will get them a pass on the assignment and the guys hoped spending one on one time with her will make their relationship grow closer.
"Sure." Iris simply answered "I'll see you after the next class, bye."
Iris walked away and the student that asked was cheering in excitement while the rest were feeling regretful 'I should have just asked first!' They didn't think it would be so easy to get Iris to partner up with them.
'Okay, I have a partner for this, hopefully he is competent.' In truth, Iris didn't care who she was with for the assignment and just wanted to get the best score for it since she would earn some Ascension points.
'I wonder how he is…' Since seeing Li, her body had been reacting strangely and would make her feel lonely from time to time, so she'd unwillingly think about him.
However, despite that, Iris continued to work on her own projects because she didn't want her new body to dictate her actions, so she began to intentionally avoid Li and the others.
She headed to the cafeteria but as she entered, a loud commotion was taking place.
"Do you know who I am, you wood class peasant!?" An annoyed voice sounded.
'What's going on…' Iris wondered as she drew close to the commotion.
The other students noticed Iris and moved to give her a way through.
"It's Iris…"
"Lady Iris…"
"She is so beautiful…"
Several whispers sounded as she moved past all of them.
"I already said sorry, My uniform is ruined too!" Another voice sounded but Iris recognised it and her chest felt suffocated 'Don't tell me…'
As she feared, she was Li and another male student standing face to face. Both their uniforms were smeared with different kinds of food.
"Ha! You dare compare us? A WOOD student dares to talk back to a GOLD student like myself?"
'He's in the gold class? I don't recognise him…he must be in the cultivation gold class..' Iris concluded.
Li was not amused with the guy's antics "Why are you so happy being in gold? There are two higher levels than that!" He decided to mock the student since it was clear the guy just wanted to cause trouble with him.
"You!" The guy couldn't take it anymore and threw a punch towards Li.
However, Li didn't react and just stood there, not because he wanted to but because he couldn't react fast enough to dodge it.
But before the punch could land, a green magic circle appeared in front of Li's face and blocked the punch 'eh?'
Li looked around and noticed Iris with her hand extended, looking coldly towards them.
'She helped me?' Li didn't expect Iris to actually help him since she always seemed indifferent and never joined them since starting the Academy.
The other guy retracted his hand as he looked around in fury "Who dares stop me!?" He shouted but when he noticed it was Iris, he looked less angry "You! Your Iris right?"
"Yes," she answered.
"So you're one of the beauties in our year, I'm so sorry you had to see me in this sorry state, my name is Wei Ming" He bowed at the end of his introduction.
'What the hell is he doing? Does he think he looks cool?' Li wondered in his immediate change of behaviour at Iris's presence.
"What happened?" She simply asked indifferently.
"This thing here wasn't watching where he was going and splattered his disgusting food on me!"
"That's not what happened! You wasn't watching where you were going and collided with me than spilt all your food on me!" Li defend himself, he did not want to seem like the bad guy here.
"Shut your mouth Wood trash!" The guy looked menacingly at Li but he didn't care.
"Look at Iris helping the two…"
"Ah, she is so kind…"
"I bet she would be an amazing mother with her virtuous heart…."
"Bro…you good?"
Numerous whispers and chatter surrounded the three.
'This is troublesome…' Iris didn't intend to get involved but when she saw the guy attack Li, her heart ached too much and her body just moved on its own.
"Just drop it for me please" She said with a smile towards the guy which made his heart beat 'She's so beautiful…I must have her' was all he thought.
"Of course Miss Iris! Eat lunch with me and I'll forget this whole thing!" Wei eventually said.
'What a bother…' Iris had a frown when she heard his demand.
"Dude, she ain't interested in you!" Li commented from the side, holding his laughter with DumDum, who kept quiet.
"Fuck off Wood trash! Can't you see your superiors are talking?" Wei's attitude changed when he confronted Li.
Iris was in a pickle now "Li go." She simply said but he didn't listen.
Wei didn't feel happy that Iris was paying attention to Li "Ignore him Miss Iris! I'm here now." He said as he moved closer to her, even touching her face.
*Bam!*
Wei felt some impact at the back of his face and he looked back to see Li with a tray on his hand 'Did he just-'
Before he could think of anything, Li continued to smash the tray at Wei, not letting him get his footing.
*Bam!*
*Bam!*
*Bam!*
The cafeteria went silent seeing Li barrade Wei's head with a tray.
