"Oh, my sweet Lili, no one is worth your tears, baby, no one," a faint voice said and Mbali was certain she was hallucinating. 

Over the years there was only one woman who called her Lili; the woman who took her in and cared for her. She was still guarding the Jabali graves though, so it made sense that Mbali would hear her at the moment with the portal open.

"I'm so sorry Nana… I… I didn't know I'd come home just to dig another grave," Mbali apologized defeatedly before adding, "Please forgive me."

She loved this woman with everything she had and didn't have. Nana always made her feel wanted and if she was being honest, this woman was the only reason she had fought to live.
