บท 21: Chapter 21 - Tomb
When Ye Ziyun, Nie Li, and others were running away sky darkened. They stopped to make camp. Miyuki who had been hiding at distance watching them also came forward.
When Miyuki was walking towards them everyone was on their guard because they couldn't see who was coming.
Miyuki could see relief and a trace of happiness on everyone's faces when they saw her.
As soon as Miyuki came out of the hiding Ziyun pounced on her and hugged her tightly "Miyuki Jiemie."
Miyuki gently patted her head with a smile on her face "I am ok."
Ziyun was very worried about Miyuki and Tatsuya. Even though they lived in the same house. She never knew about their powers. They were becoming harder for her to understand but that didn't change the fact that they were her family. She looked around as if trying to find someone "Brother Tatsuya?"
Miyuki looked towards the direction briefly she came from "He should have been here but for some reason, he is sticking with members of Dark Guild."
Ziyun became worried "Isn't that dangerous?"
Miyuki let out a chuckle as if she heard something funny "maybe for the dark guild. Your Brother Tatsuya is stronger than you think."
She wasn't worried about Tatsuya. Although Tatsuya didn't have full control of his powers that only made him vulnerable when he was surrounded by the people of Glory City. Right now the one in danger were the people of Dark Guild.
Miyuki stopped her from asking any other question "We should camp."
Ziyun knew she couldn't ask anymore.
Suddenly, Huyan Lanruo came forward and politely bowed "Thank You Lady Miyuki. I Will try my best to repay this favor." others also bowed and thanked her.
Miyuki smiled "It's ok, that was something I should do"
Huyan Lanruo couldn't help but blush after looking at that smile others were also mesmerized by that smile. Huyan Lanruo hastily shook her head. If she didn't know better she would have thought Miyuki used a charming technique on her.
Shortly everyone settled down and started to make camp. They took food from their ring to fill their stomach.
When everyone was resting something caught Ziyun's eye "What's that?"
"Seems to be a building!" Nie Li said with a slight frown. It should be a dilapidated building.
"Let's go have a look," suggested Ziyun she was curious about what was there.
"This place could've been a statue!" Nie Li said. He couldn't make out what the sculpture was since it had already collapsed.
Here vague remnants of the civilization before the Age of Darkness remained.
"What are these words?" Ye Ziyun looked at Nie Li and asked.
There is a stone tablet below the statue. Nie Li brushed off the dust on the surface and, with the aid of the moonlight, he was able to make out the words on it.
"This was the language of the Sacred Empire," he explained, "It says: Those who follow me, shall be honored. Those who oppose me shall perish. What big words!"
Miyuki was stunned after hearing those words. She felt she had heard something similar before.
"Nie Li, how did you learn the language of Sacred Empire?" asked Ye Ziyun, filled with curiosity regarding this matter. There are only a few that know a little bit of the Sacred Empire language.
"How did I learn it?" Nie Li smiled. He couldn't say that he learned all of Divine Continent's era, language, and cultivation techniques, right?
"Since you're unwilling, forget it!" Ye Ziyun said, pouting.
Miyuki didn't say anything she was looking around this place. She had a weird feeling about this place.
Just when she was trying to feel the information about this place. She heard Ziyun's scream. When she looked over Ziyun was falling and Nie Li was trying to catch her. She hastily cast fixed deceleration to slow down their fall.
When got on her knees and looked inside the hole that just formed. She could see Nie Li and Ziyun falling. Deceleration was slowing down their fall. She was sure they would reach the bottom safely but she was worried was would be waiting for them at the bottom.
"Lady Lanruo, please take others to the meeting point. I will bring them and see you there."
Lanruo was flabbergasted by what just happened. Miyuki's words got her attention.
"Let me come with you. I want to help!!" She was worried about Nie Li and Ziyun. She knew Ziyun since they were kids and although she just recently met Nie Li she was interested in the kid.
Miyuki looked towards Lanruo. She knew about Lanruo, although she was spoiled by her father. She wasn't rotten like Shen Yue rather she was very kind, intelligent, and above all capable.
Miyuki looked at her seriously "Miss Lanruo we might need to explore the underground, It might take time so please take them to the meeting point. If you are with them then I can be at ease. So, please take them to safety."
Huyan Lanruo couldn't help but feel her spirit-lifting. A determined look appeared on her face. She straightened her back "Don't worry Lady Miyuki, I will make sure everyone reaches the meeting area safely."
Seeing her look Miyuki knew she wouldn't have to worry too much. She assumed her Leviathan's form and started to float down the fall.
It took a while, Miyuki finally reached the bottom. When she reached the bottom of the pit she could see Nie Li and Ziyun were standing there. Ziyun was gritting her teeth while having a big blush on her face. Seeing Miyuki her expression changed from surprised to happy to relief. "Miyuki Jiemie"
Miyuki was also relieved when she saw her safe. She wanted to scold Ziyun but even with her ability to feel information she didn't see it coming.
She could only sigh "Be more careful next time."
Ziyun looked down like she was ashamed. She knew Nie Li and Miyuki had to come here only to save her.
Miyuki patted her head "Don't worry, It's not your fault." then she looked at the hole from where they had dropped and then the dark passage and finally at Nie Li.
"I can take you two out or we can explore this place."
"Okay! Give me a minute," replied Nie Li as he took out a torch from his interspatial ring and lit it up. Using the light, he examined the surroundings. It appears that they have fallen into an underground palace. Just like a deep maze, there were five to six passages they could take, but they did not know where they would lead to.
' I can't imagine how large the internal structure of this maze is,' Nie Li thought.
He found a line of text on a stone wall by his side.
"Emperor Kong Ming's resting place," Nie Li murmured and was suddenly surprised. "This is the tomb of the Sacred Empire's Emperor Kong Ming!"
"Emperor Kong Ming?" Ye Ziyun asked, full of curiosity.
"Right" Nie Li slightly nodded and continued, "He is the most mysterious emperor within the history of the Sacred Empire. As an emperor of the Sacred Empire, he used his title as his form of address, which is a very strange thing. This particular emperor left the Sacred Empire in the middle of his rule and passed his throne to his son. It's said that he had already cultivated to a frightening extent, becoming immortalized. Even his descendants couldn't find his tomb. I never thought that he would be buried here."
"Is there anyone that has cultivated to the extent of immortalization?" Ye Ziyun questioned, looking towards Nie Li.
"No, that's just a myth. Even if one cultivated to the realm above Legend rank, they can only live for two-three hundred years. They still couldn't escape the cycle of heavens!" Nie Li laughed.
"A realm above Legend rank? What kind of realm is that?" Ye Ziyun asked, full of doubts right now. In her mindset, Legend rank is already the strongest existence.
At this moment Miyuki spoke "Those who have cultivated above Legend Rank. Are there some in other settlement?"
Nie Li suddenly stopped in his track. He was surprised by Miyuki's question. Everyone in Glory City thought they were the last of their civilization.
Nie Li turned back and looked at Miyuki curiously "Are you so sure there are other settlements?"
Miyuki thought for a bit she was contemplating how much information should she exchange "The dark guild. They are a big group of people they must need quite a few resources to run their organization. If they were getting that amount of resources from an Aristocratic Family or any Aristocratic Family we would have been able to track it. But we haven't seen any unnatural transaction. Even if there was it would only be a small transaction. We think that there is another settlement and Dark Guild's base is in that settlement."
Nie Li was startled "How do you know there hasn't been a large scale transaction. Aristocrat family could easily hide and do it."
Miyuki crossed her arms and looked at Nie Li and Ziyun who were startled and curious with a confident smile "Do you two know how many people are there in Glory City that have some connection to Alchemy Association?"
When Nie Li and Ziyun heard that they were stunned. Nie Li felt like he had been hit by a thunderbolt.
