บท 146: 138. Reconciliation

Coming back from the Underworld after handing the task to others, I thought of going to the school as i had originally though of doing. "Kuroka want to go meet Koneko?" I looked at the cat clinging to me for dear life and asked.

"I want to Nya~". She had a happy smile on her face after she witnessed what I had done. This will fulfil her revenge and also help clear her name. She can finally meet with her sister without interference.

"Let's go then". I took her in my arms and flew towards the school. In a single moment, we were standing in front of the school. I perceived the others around the back of the school and started walking towards there.

Today was a holiday as it is Sunday. So there weren't anyone else on campus except the 2 group of girls and some unwanted men at the back of the school. Kuroka held my arm like usual as we walked towards the back of the school.

I got there and saw all of them cleaning the pool. I guess that event is here huh. "Ara Ara~, did you come to see me?" Akeno saw me and bent in my direction as she flashed her boobs in a Bikini. It was a magnificent scene in front of my eyes.

"That and something else as well". I said that with a smile and nudged Kuroka from my side. She looked a bit nervous as she was looking at Koneko, who was also wearing a school swimsuit. Kuroka took a deep breath and started walking towards Koneko.

Everyone on the scene turned their heads and saw a black haired cat Youkai moving towards a white haired cat Youkai. Kuroka and Koneko stood in front of each other for a while. "Shirone". Kuroka spoke up first with nervousness and a bit of melancholy as she looked at Koneko.

"....." Koneko didn't say anything and just looked at Kuroka but after a while she turned her head and ignored her. I looked at their behaviour and gave a wry smile. I knew this wasn't going to be easy.

"Shirone". Kuroka spoke again as she moved in front Koneko again with a bit of helplessness as tears gathered around her eyes. Koneko at first didn't pay attention but just uttered a word that devastated Kuroka on the spot. "Criminal".

Kuroka heard that word and looked like her soul flew out of her body. She was petrified on the spot and I could see from the corner of my eyes that Rias was about to move to intercept the conversation between them. I covered her with Ki that wasn't noticed and restrained her in a way that she couldn't even squirm. She just stood there in a normal position like a statue.

"Okay, this is going nowhere. Come on". I didn't give them any time and just covered the both of them with my Ki and took off to somewhere else.

Coming out of the city to a nearby uninhabited area, I let both down and stood up in front of them. "Now speak here without interference. Also Koneko, not everything is always as it seems. She is your sister and only family. Give her a chance to explain then come to a conclusion". I looked Koneko and spoke harshly. Kuroka wanted to stop me on the side but I didn't give her any mind.

Koneko looked at me and then looked at Kuroka a bit and finally nodded her head. I got her confirmation and just left them to their devices. Koneko started walking towards a tree and sat down under the shade. She was still in her swimsuit tho.

Kuroka also moved close to her and sat down just a bit of a distance away from her. "Shirone, I am sorry for leaving you". Kuroka started the topic by bowing her head and saying sorry. She was feeling nervous and guilty but there was nothing to be done. Koneko looked at her but didn't say anything. Kuroka had forgotten her iconic Nya~ at this time as she was quite distressed.

Kuroka saw her sister's response and gave a sad smile. She sat down again and looked at Koneko. "During our time at the Naberius Household, I wanted to protect you from those nasty Devils with everything I had. They were experimenting on me to make a Super Devil with the help of our high affinity to Senjutsu. I had asked them to not touch you and I will bear all the experiments on my won. Then one day...." Kuroka started to narrate her story and told Koneko everything. In the middle of the talk, she started to shed tears and shivered a little as she remembered that time.

Koneko at first listened without changing her expression or even feeling anything about it but after listening and looking at Kuroka weeping and Shivering. She got up and put her hand on Kuroka and slowly stroked her head. Kuroka looked up and suddenly hugged her and cried even louder. "Th....They said that I was at my limit a...and wa..wanted to start ex....ex, Uwaaaah". Koneko held Kuroka tightly and listened to Kuroka. She got the idea of what Kuroka wanted to say.

She finally knew what happened and her heart tightened. She looked at the suffering face of her sister and suddenly really bad for doubting her all these years. From the day that Lab was destroyed. She felt that her sister had done something heinous and always regarded her as a criminal like the rest of the devils.

Kuroka cried in Koneko's arms for a while and finally calmed down after a good 10-15 minutes of loud crying. Then she patted Koneko's head a little and started talking. "They wanted to experiment on you. When I heard them say this, At first I pleaded with them that I could take more and they didn't need to involve you but they didn't listen and even restrained me. At that time something broke inside me and in my rage, I killed every single person that was in that Lab". Kuroka looked at Koneko with a soft smile and continued.

"After I was finished killing everyone in that room. Suddenly, Sirzechs and Ajuka came into the lab and saw me. They restrained me for a while and my sanity was finally restored. They asked me a series of questions. I answered honestly and they finally gave me two choices.

Either, I could implicate you with me and we both live like Fugitives or I could take all the blame on me and Sirzechs would cover up for you. I agreed to the second option after some thought as you will be safe this way. I had enough strength after the experiments to keep running away from the devils.

Sirzechs let me go and I wandered all these years as a fugitive. I watched you secretly from time to time but never had the courage to actually come forward and talk. All until I met Vegeta, He took me to Sirzechs today to clear my name and I had some courage to meet you and tell you everything finally Nya~". Kuroka gave a lovely smile and looked at Koneko with longing.

"Sorry". Koneko drooped her ears and looked at Kuroka like a child that did something wrong. Kuroka smiled and hugged Koneko tightly.

Both sisters then sat down under the shade intimately and talked about everything that happened in all these years. Kuroka did conceal some things from Koneko but that was inevitable. As it was getting late, Koneko slowly rested her head on Kuroka's shoulder and fell asleep. Kuroka smiled softly and just rested her head on her sister's head and stayed there just like that.
