บท 97: Ch.97 Wintry Omen
This was Kris's attempt to copy the iconic guns of Alucard from Hellsing. The Hellsing Arm 424 Casull, and Jackal. But since he was going to sell it to the Continental he had to scale it down a bit to allow a human to use it, and not feel any strain. But still keeping the power of the weapon.
Charon press something below his desk, and a bellboy in a suit arrives beside Kris.
He looked at Kris saying,"The owner will be seeing you now... please follow after your guide, He will be taking you there."
Charon hands the wooden box to the bellboy, and they proceed towards the kitchen where the secret entrance is located.
When they reached the door, the bellboy inserted a golden coin in a slot on the door and it opens up for them.
He leads Kris to a table where Winston the hotel owner, is seated drinking a manhattan.
The bellboy places the box on the table, and opens it for Winston.
Winston looks at Kris saying,"You know Mr.Wu, it has been a long time since. I've seen craftsmanship like this..."
"You see it's things like this that makes me proud of my roots... Some of the most beautiful things in this world are actually the things that do what they're intended to, or even more."
"My sources say, John Wick killed 108 people just a day ago... with a black, and gold handgun without even stopping to reload. Not even once, it just blows my mind at how that could be done. So, I personally went with the clean up crew, to see it for myself."
"What was curious, was not a few days ago Charon told me you gave John such a gun."
"I was skeptical at first... But, man oh! man was I, speechless, and baffled by the sight. Then I ask myself, 'what could lead a man to create such a beast of pure carnage?"
"Then, I met you here today..." Winston then trails off as he stares into the distance.
"There are no two stronger human emotions than fear, and love. In many ways, they're not so different. Both can make you do crazy things."
Winston looks Kris in the eyes, and said, "500 Pieces of our currency for your master piece."
Kris nods and say,"You can call me Kris, It's a pleasure doing business with you. But if you could give me a moment of your time, I would like to ask a few questions."
Winston, gestures with his hand for Kris to sit," Feel free to call me Winston, drinks on me."
"Oh!Thank you, I'll have a manhattan as well." said Kris as he sat down.
"Now Kris, what is it that you would like to know?" ask Winston.
"Well, I was hoping you could tell me something about the Company..." said Kris while looking into Winston's eyes.
"Ah! well for one their not to be messed with. It was originally founded by a few influential individuals, lead by a Mysterious man." Winston takes a sip at his drink.
"They started a few businesses together, had each others backs. As their origins themselves came from diverse backgrounds, one you should be familiar with. His running for senator these days..."
"Oh! Petrelli? I heard he's in it to win..." Kris's drink finally arrives, and he thanks the waiter.
"Knowing the right people, does that. Especially when your in bed with Linderman." said Winston.
Kris takes out a piece of paper, and hands it to Winston,"What can you tell me about this building?"
Winston takes out his glasses, and checks the paper," This building is owned by the Linderman Group. But, its just a front for the Company here in New York."
"If your, thinking of going there I would normally advice you, not to. But, seeing that look in your eyes... Makes me think otherwise." said Winston
"Could I trust the Continental to still be open for me, if I cross paths with the Company?" asked Kris
"The Company might be influential. But, the Continental has always been a neutral ground for people like us. No harm will come to you, or yours within this walls." said Winston spreading his hands to emphasize his words.
"Thanks, that's all I needed to know... And is it possible to check in a room indefinitely?" wondered Kris.
"You'll be needing more than you have at the moment. But, its possible... it depends on what you're willing to give for such a privilege..." said Kris.
Kris downed his drink, and stood up saying,"Thanks for the drink Winston."
Winston just raised his glass at Kris, as he left.
When he got to the secret door the bellboy from before handed him a briefcase containing his payment for the gun.
Not long after Kris meets up with Clear in his suite, the moment he closed the door she asked,"So how did it go? Did you find out anything important?"
Kris looked at her, and said,"Well, we can't just barge in there. They've got some very influential people behind them. You, and Molly will be having a hard time running from them after. So, will have to make you disappear when were done."
"Felicity, will take care of that. It's kinda weird for me that you two seemed to like each other now... But, going back to the topic now... I will have to go in the place undetected."
"Which is a challenge in its self, but it's doable. I can't take you in with me though. It's too risky... I'm set to go in there tonight. So we better get ready." said Kris.
Mean while with Niki Sanders, Clear's sister...
Nikki is still suffering from a split personality, Which she calls Jessica. Who is not as motherly as her,Jessica has it in her to do what needs to be done to get what she wants unlike Niki to some extent.
So, when Linderman asked to borrow Micah, her son with the ability to command, and manipulate machines. Telling her, his willing to pay her 2 million dollars for it. She agreed all be it reluctantly.
So when D.L. Hawkins, Niki's husband found out.
Jessica, who is now pretending to be Niki and D.L. argued about their son Micah's whereabouts.
D.L. blamed Jessica for his disappearance. He then leaves, intending to rescue Micah without help. Niki pleads with Jessica to assist him, saying that he will die without her help. So they both got into the car and went to confront Linderman.
Meanwhile in an apartment within the Linderman Groups building...
Micah, is seen playing video games in a spacious apartment, while Candice, an individual with the power to manipulate illusions, speaks to Linderman on the phone. Telling him about how Micah is doing, and how they are no problems from their end.
She then appears as Niki, and checks in on Micah as he was playing. He tells her that, he doesn't want to be here, that he wants to go home, and that he does not like Mr. Linderman.
Candice (as Niki) chastises him, saying that Linderman had helped them, and that it was now time to return the favor.
[Mohinder POV]
He was just finishing up, as he was giving Molly a check up.
Seeing the little girl seeming sad, he asked,"What's wrong princess, why the long face?"
When the little girl didn't respond, he came next to her and whispered,"Don't be sad, your parents are coming to get you soon..."
The little girl looks at him saying,"It's just probably my mom..."
"Why would you say that?" asked Mohinder
"It's 'cause I haven't seen my dad, I don't even know his name... I don't even think he knows he has a daughter."
Mohinder couldn't bare to see the little angels sad face said,"Well, that's not true! I for one, know your father is helping your mother look for you. His name is Kris. And his doing everything just to come and get you."
The little girl's face lit up at those words.
Mean while Kris who was on his way... felt a sudden chill, as if somebody cast a curse on him.
