บท 85: Ch.85 Closed call, is it?
When the ceiling came crashing down, so did the xenomorphs...
Kris closed his eyes, and as if time stopped. He took a deep breath, and listen to the beat of his heart. Each beat became like an explosion, silencing the world around him.
As he exhales, the world began to move again. But, this time it was in slow motion. Pushing his body forward with TK he sped towards the Xenomorphs, successfully cleaving two of the creatures in half.
Before the world run its usual pace. The marines have now fired their weapons, taking out some of the attackers.
Kris danced around the console room, both dodging bullets, and slicing aliens as he pass.
Seeing the chaos, and what seemed to be a hopeless situation. Carter Burke in his panic, decided to flee. He opened the nearest doors leading towards the hanger.
Seeing this Ripley carried Newt, and went after Burke.
As Burke got out of the console room, lead by his cowardice he closed, and lock the door behind him to buy himself more time to escape.
When the doors slammed shut, Ripley was only a feet away to get thru with Newt. She ended up colliding with the now closed doors.
She tried to open it but then, realized Burke had locked it on the other side. Ripley banged on the door, and ask Burke to open the door to let them thru.
But, Burke was too busy running. He didn't even hear Ripley behind him.
Zheng saw that Ripley, and Newt were banging on the door. Emptying his remaining ammo shooting an alien charging at him, He threw his gun down, and tried to help Ripley open the door.
He activated his red flames to melt a section of the door near the locks. When Newt, and Ripley saw this they were shocked.
The others also caught a glimps of it as well but, didn't pay it attention as they were still busy shooting down some aliens.
When Zheng's hand got thru he felt the lock gave way, and melted. Taking back his hand, and deactivating the skill he gave the door a strong front kick, slamming it open.
At Kris's end...
After cutting down almost a dozen xenomorphs, he realized that the aliens doesn't seem to thin out.
As he was about to lunge back into action, he saw Vasquez trying to pull out Lt.Gorman from some debris.
So instead of killing some more aliens, he went next to her, and picked up the Lt.
Carrying him over his left shoulder, Kris commanded that they fall back towards the now opened door.
Vasquez, Hicks and Hudson layed down some cover fire. As he brought the Lt. out of the room.
Vasquez, and Hicks followed behind him. Leaving Hudson at the back of the group, seemingly on a rampage as he shoot everything that doesn't look human.
As he was about to fall back, a crafty alien pulled him down, thru the floor panels. dragging him to who knows where.
Not wanting to suffer the same fate as the other victims, "Fook this shyte! I ain't gonna be somebody's b*tch!"
As a last resort he held two of the grenades he had on him, and pulled the pin. "Choke on this you ugly fook!"
The resulting explosion collapsed the only access way going towards the hanger area.
Kris who was still carrying the unconscious Gorman and the injured Vasquez followed Hicks. Who was now running along side Ripley,and Newt.
There were still a few aliens after them. But Kris would sometimes stop, and throw his lightsaber at the pursuers. Like a boomerang he controled it with his TK, effectively finishing their attackers and losing sight of the group.
When Kris, and Vasquez caught up with Hicks, and Ripley. They were kneeling over some section of the whole way cutting thru the flooring.
When Kris saw this he realized this was the part where Newt would be taken by the Xenomorph and brought to the nest.
With haste he passed the Lt. to Vasquez, then activated his weapons and slash down at the floor.
Just in time 'cause the xenomorph had already appeared behind the little girl.
Using his TK he pulled Newt towards him and away from the alien.
The alien clearly upset by the interruption pounced towards the now soaked duo.
Kris gather psionic energy in front of him and unleashed it like a shock wave. When this collided with the alien it was push back into a wall.
Crashing into the wall, visibly killing the creature as it stopped moving.
When he saw this he carried the little girl, and checked her for any injuries. When there were none, he gave her a small hug.
Jumping out of the hole he made before, he handed Newt to Ripley.
He then asked,"Where are Zha, and the others?"
"The other two went a head to catch Burke, while we got seperated from Zheng when we went after Newt."
"He was fighting an alien that came along with the group at the time."
Not a minute after, mentioning Zheng. The person himself appeared from another coridor, and was running.
Zheng saw, and warned the group ahead,"The Big one is coming this way."
It so happend that when Hudson had his last hurrah! The explosion was already near where the queen was staying.
Being in such a volatile section of the facility's cooling system, the explosion created a small chain reaction.
Causing the egg chamber, and the Queen to be enveloped by flames. Destroying the eggs, and effectively angering the Queen.
When Zheng went to find Newt he used the life sign detector he picked up from the console room. Thinking the blip he was following was Newt.
It was to his surprise when the Xenomorph Queen greeted him as he turned the corner.
With out his knowledge, Newt was led down the sewer systems just as the queen passed her by. There for overlapping their image on the monitor. Newt was carried down further out of his range, while the queen came closer.
Zheng shocked by the encounter choose to gain distance from the Queen that had locked on her target.
The pulse rifle did to little damage to the queen, and Zheng being without any other option ran.
When they saw Zheng, and his pursuer. Decided to bolt it as well.
Kris was confident to kill the queen but, the clock was ticking. There was only less that 15 minute to the melt down at this point.
Ripley and Hicks reached Bishop in the second dropship, but he was not alone with in was Burke pinned down by Chengxiao and Tengyi.
Seeing the Queen was gaining on them, Kris picked up Vasquez and the Lt. He then bellowed for them launch.
Which they did, but Ripley opened the bay door of the transport. So Kris was able to board, just in the nick of time.
The Queen tried to hop on board as well but, Kris used his TK to push her back.
As they escaped the facility with only 5 minutes left,
Kris slumped down in the cargo bay from the release of so much nerve racking tension.
Just as the facility exploded they escaped just by a hairs breath till the colony was consumed by the nuclear blast.
But later would they know, a stow away was on their ship...
