บท 26: Royal reading
After being so utterly humiliated I don't really feel like leaving my room but I don't think I really get a choice so at 4.40 pm I make my way to the library which is located next to the omega workroom, as I get to the door I take a deep breath before I push open the door and walk into what I can only describe as a library, there is a long table that goes down the length of the room and shelves filled with books lining the walls and a desk next to the door I just came in where a woman sits watching over everyone "oh hey Lissa" Jasmine says coming towards me "are you ok? what did Dirk and Jared do to you? Why didn't you come back? they didn't hurt you did they?" she fires off the questions one after the other with a concerned look on her face "I'm fine, Wolf saved me "I whisper not meeting her eyes "ok so that's good isn't it?" she sounds unsure if it is or not so to put her at ease I smile and say "yeah of course it is, come on what are we suppose to be doing?" she instantly brightens "oh come sit down, we just spend this hour reading about the royals, the alphas," she says seeing the confused look on my face .
over the next few minutes everyone else starts entering the room Simon sits next to me with Danlow beside him "hey "they both say together "hey "i reply "look im sorry ,i tried to stop them" Danlow says trying to not look directly at my face ,i smile "i know ,i heard you ,thankyou for trying ,im fine they didnt hurt me" "yeah Wolf saved her" Jasmine surplies "oh isnt he the big dude ya know the beta"simon asks "yeah "Danlow says "strange he usually keeps to himself ,he dont want to know anyone"
Just then the librarian gets up "ok quiet down, right for the new ones here in Mrs Weston,I'm here to answer any questions you have and to check out any books you wish to take back to your rooms ,now royal studies as i call it is the most important class you will take "she looks at everyone of us to make sure we are listening "now you are expected to read these books and to learn about your alphas your bosses your royals ,now all find a book that interests you and start reading". i get up and with Jasmine beside me i look for a book that looks interesting "Jazz" i whispers Jasmine smiles and my nickname for her before answering "yeah" "why do we have to read about the alphas? and where is everyone else? i ask curious because there are all us newbies here but only some betas "well"she says we all have to learn who the most important people are and some of the betas are next door in the other bigger library " "oh"is all i can think to say and she smiles "come on , read this book its one of the easy ones" i look down at the book she's holding in her hands it has a symbol on the front of a crown with the word alpha inscribed on it,coming off one point of the crown is a sword that says beta on the blade and on the other side coming off a point is a ball and chain that says omega, just the front cover of the book makes it quite clear who is in charge , which really is a scary thought when you consider we haven't even met them yet.
I take my book back to the desk with Jasmine following me with a book of her own ,i sit down and start to read WHO ARE THE ALPHAS? The Alphas are your protectors , they are the ones you bow to ,they feed,clothe and look after you ,The Alphas are your family now ,nobody is more important then the Alphas ........ As is sit there reading this all i can think is they have got to be kidding ,they want me to kiss someones arse for no reason other then they decided to claim they do things that to be honest is haven't seen any evidence of them doing, yeah right why don't they kiss MY arse ... i snort at my own joke and look up to see several people looking at me Simon has his eyebrows raised ,Danlow is smirking like he wants in on the joke and Jasmine is frowning at me ,as i look round everyone starts reading again except one girl who has dark brown hair and really blue eyes shes just sat there watching me with a book in her hands when she realizes I'm looking at her she smiles at me and carries on with her book ,but i can tell by her grey uniform shes no newbie shes an omega ,i hear a cough beside me and look to see Jasmine raise her eyebrows and point to my book ,i roll my eyes at her and carry on reading.
When the hours up we are free to get dinner so with jasmine,Simon and danlow i head to the food hall ,im soooo tired i just want to sleep and everyone of my muscles ache ,im contemplating just having some dinner then going straight to bed as i can barely keep my eyes open as i follow the others into the food hall i come face to face with Wolf who stares into my eyes ,my heart misses a beat ,my face goes bright red and as he opens his mouth "Larissa i would..." ,i don't give him the chance to humiliate again i just turn and run.
