They were on their way to the hills leading to the Ikrans' shrine on the back of Pa'li with Joltsyn and two other youths. During the journey, she couldn't help but turn her anxious gaze to her apprentice who was behind her, clinging to the chief, a little shaky.
The young chef was able to realize Tsylan's phobia of the Pa'lis when she had tried to get one up during her training. Despite her protests, she had forced him to do tsahaylu with the creature. A decision she immediately regretted, given the panicked reactions of Tsylan and the Pa'li. She had succeeded in calming the creature, but her apprentice was all trembling, sweaty and jerky-breathing. It took several days for her apprentice's health to stabilize and calm the strangely frightened animal.
Since that attempt, she has never tried to continue this part of the apprenticeship, for fear of damaging Tsylan's health and creating panic within the Pal'i herd of the clan.
She had therefore decided to take her with her on her Pa'li to avoid this incident again. In spite of this, she could feel the fear of humans through her tremors.
Tsylan: We are.... soon...arrived?
Lutsey in a reassuring tone: Yes. Hold on a little longer.
The young chief was trying to calm him down because he had to be in great shape to pass the test. At last, the floating hills appeared in front of them, to his relief.
Lutsey: Here we are. You can come down.
Tsylan's POV
Once I got off the Equidius, I took deep breaths to calm down, as my mother taught me when I was having this panic attack. I was trying to regain her calm, to slow down the rapid movements of my heart and to calm the tension in my brain. I stayed like this for a while before I was interrupted by Lutsey.
Lutsey, worried: Are you okay, Tsylan?
This worried tone touched me from him and I gave him a reassuring smile.
Tsylan: Yes, thank you for waiting.
