Kwan gulped nervously as he stared at the colossal building before him. He then looked at his phone to check the time… it was 7:45 pm so he had about 15 minutes more to go. Letting out a shaky breath, he entered right in only to be stopped by security.
"I'm meeting with Jeon Wonshik…"
"Name?"
"Min Kwan..."
The guard nodded and escorted Wonshik's visitor through the building. He guided him inside the elevator and Kwan felt a little claustrophobic with all the people who were wearing suits and pencil skirts who were all in a rush of going home. It has been his dream job to work in such places and he remembered when was the last time he wore a suit… He shrugged off that memory as he knew it was a long-forgotten one. He didn't need another nightmare to deal with.
"Oh my gawd…" he whispered to himself when the guard told him to enter Wonshik's office. It was enormous judging by the height of the ceiling and the chic pathway they entered. He sighed and went right in seating himself in the big black beanie letting the item swallow him but not completely; he practically looked very small if he was seen in that state, but he wasn't really sure what to do since he came here unprepared and unarmed. He checked the classic expensive look clock on the wall to his right indicating that I am exactly here at eight.
"Punctual… I like it" Kwan quickly stood up to find Jeon Wonshik leaning against his doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest accompanied by a smug look. Kwan unconsciously clicked his tongue as he furrowed his brows in irritation, balling his fists in the process as soon as he saw the man.
"Where is he?" Kwan demanded.
"He's fine…" He waved off the impatient and flaring cutie and began to walk towards his desk. He sighed and sat on his swiveling chair. He then smiled and gestured for his quest to sit in front. Kwan gritted his teeth and let his feet drag him towards the other and sat down.
"Eungoo hyung is being taken care of at the moment…" Kwan sighed in relief for a brief moment as soon as he heard that. Eungie has been missing for God knows how long. Kwan had sleepless nights thinking and wondering if he's somewhere safe and eating well and hoped for the best that he wasn't taken away by loan sharks that his parents are involved with. Eungoo was too precious and his idiotic parents can't see that. "But… You're not allowed to see him…"
Kwan widened his eyes in disbelief. "No no no no" He kept chanting furiously. He then leaned forward and slammed his hands on the desk, his anger on the edge. "Please… let me see him. He needs me!" He exclaimed.
He had always taken good care of Eungoo since middle school, all throughout high school and halfway through college. He's grown too attached that he couldn't imagine life without him.
"What exactly is your relationship with him?"
"We're best friends… actually… I'm the only friend he has! He's like my little-" Kwan caught himself rambling and paused. He shook his head and rubbed his temples. "Why the fuck am I explaining this to you?"
"To get to know you more…" Wonshik hummed.
"FOR WHAT?!" Kwan yelled.
"For me to know and for you to find out." And that was the last draw. Kwan pulled Wonshik by the collar of his suit and pulled him closer. "Ah ah ah. If something happens to me- not saying that I'd let you- Eungoo would be somewhere in a ditch by now?"
"How can I believe you?"
"You can try… And lose the source of seeing the boy… Your choice."
Kwan could feel his veins popping on his neck and his heavy breathing. His eyes were filled with rage staring right into the calm eyes of Jeon Wonshik. He was the only direct link of Park Yejun.
He yelled before pushing away the man. Kwan then turned around and began clenching and unclenching his fists as he tried to control his anger and keep himself in check.
Amused, Wonshik smiled and leaned back to his chair crossing his arms over his chest. He pursed his lips and began to think. Only the ticking of the clock could be heard in the room.
"What do you want?" Kwan calmly asked but still had his back on him. Wonshik smiled deviously as he heard the words that he had predicted to hear.
"You get to be my maid... How's that?" Wonshik said
Now this made Kwan turned around to give the guy 'are-you-fucking-serious' face. He then walked slowly and placed both his hands on his hips and spoke.
"Maid? I'm a guy…"
"I know… Which means you're going to wear a maid uniform while you clean of course…"
"
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
Feeling unbothered by Kwan's continuous rants, Wonshik then pulled out a file and handed it over to him. He opened the folder and revealed Kwan's on it. He gave him a pen. "That's your choice… And besides, even if you don't sign the papers not only would you not get to see Eungoo but your whole gang and their family members go bye bye."
"That's not even that much to bargain! You're not giving me much of a choice!"
"I am giving you a choice! And these are your options!" Wonshik's voice boomed as he was getting frustrated especially with Kwan's tone that he needs to fix in the near future.
Kwan's knees wobbled and gave out. His throat ran dry and he rubbed his temples as he was in a state of shock. His fingers trembled as he reached out to grab the said contract and began scanning through it. It was thicker than he thought.
The more pages he flipped the dizzier he got. There were so many restrictions written on it. He then looked at Wonshik who was quietly humming to himself.
He wanted to talk to him regarding the contract if it was negotiable or not. His stomache turned and he looked to the side to see the sun setting and disappearing over the horizon.
He has never felt this defeated and he was making a dangerous decision. He grabbed the fountain pen and signed the papers. Throwing it on the desk and folded his legs and held his mouth and looked outside and watched as the sun finally disappeared.
He gathered his strength and finally spoke, "When does my shift start?"
For a moment Wonshik felt sorry for him but then again this is all business for him in a very civilized manner. Like his hyung, he makes sure he gets what he wants but in a much cleaner manner… unless extreme measures are being dealt.
He smiled and placed the file inside his drawer. He clasped his hands together and smiled.
"Well, Min Kwan, your shift starts now."
