"Would you be willing to meet my father?"
"Not a chance."
"I'll pay double the usual amount."
"No deal. I won't accept even if you pay me a hundred times the amount."
"Why?!!"
"Firstly, I will not discuss the possibility of an alternative path you can take with your father who evidently thinks that there is no such thing. Secondly, I do not want to meet him."
"You know my father?"
"I know Oden Bloodborne. And well enough to know that trying to convince him that this alternate path exists you would need to have unshakable evidence."
"Is there nothing you can do?"
"Nothing at all."
"I see, I will return once I've sorted this out."
"I'd rather you didn't but as a paying customer, you are free to book the sanguine VR program as many times as you want to."

Kent looks a little surprised at my words but before anything else can happen I exit the VR room we are in and leave my VR capsule.
That's for making me lose to that bear, Navi.
<How could you say that to a customer?! What if he goes somewhere else?>
You really think he'll go somewhere else? Where? I know for certain that master Oden will try to kill anyone who says that there is an alternate path for Kent to walk. My VR program is the best environment to improve skills related to the sanguine swordsmen so regardless of how nice someone else tells him, they won't be able to do better.
<Sounds like you thought this through quite thoroughly. We did indeed fail to find any other training method used by sanguine swordsmen. Would you mind telling us how you trained before... things happened?>
The only known form of training for the sanguine boost and also the other skills is to keep using them. Nothing fancy or methodical just keep using it until it levels up.
<Isn't that incredibly arduous?>
Why else is there no one currently alive who has managed to reach level ten of the sanguine boost and caused the skill to evolve?
<They don't have the evolved skill? Doesn't that make them weak?>
Would you call someone who can nearly double all their stats during a fight weak? Sanguine swordsmen are capable of fighting opponents above their level and that's what most of them are feared for.
<The way you say most of them makes me think that Oden Bloodborne is different. Am I right?>
He never outright told me about his skills but he got his name for creating one that made him famous.
<Isn't that the name of the sanguine swordsmen's founder?>
No, the founder named his family blood born, master Oden named himself bloodborne. He was very particular about that and had me write it ten thousand times before I was allowed to start my training.
<Do you think it's a joke then?>
He doesn't make jokes and I don't think it was an accident. Isn't it custom to create a new family name based on one's strongest skill?
<That is indeed a custom but what could bloodborne be referring to?>
Maybe something that is transferred by blood like a bloodborne disease? He never talks about it so it's probably quite a strong skill that he wants to keep secret.
<That's weird, we barely have any data on this man and he only entered low-level dungeons.>
I don't know much about that either. However, it's true that I have never seen him join a dungeon delve with people of his level. He only brought me to a dungeon three times and that was for me to train.
<I will look into that. If he truly is as you describe him then we have to add him to our list of potential threats.>
That might not be too bad of an idea.
Hmm, I'm feeling a little peckish but it's not yet time for dinner. Should I go out and get a snack.
<Umm, going out in your current condition might be troublesome. We would have to hide your irregularities with an illusion and you would have to make sure not to let anyone touch them. Why not head to the employee dining hall?>
But it's not time for dinner yet. I wouldn't want to stress Pata out by asking him to cook for me.
<Do you like sweet desserts?>
Yes, why?
<Then there's no issue. Between mealtimes, Pata usually spends his time preparing confections. You can always go there for a snack. Monica is also there as part of her training.>
Monica? I question Navi as I walk to the employee dining hall.
<You know the little girl with Melody back when Guy shoved you aside. She's our newest member but her specific monster type required some preparations before we could send her into the dungeon.>
Oh, what kind of a monster is she if you don't mind me asking.
<... I guess it's fine to tell you. She's a golem type. As such, she needs to expend mp for everything she does including all movements. Her stamina is basically her mp.>
Wow, what happens if she runs out?
<She will cease to move until her mp recover. It's not that bad in the dungeon since you are continuously supplied with mana as long as you are recognized as a defender but it still leaves her vulnerable.>
Tell me about it, suddenly freezing up in the middle of the fight is everyone's worst nightmare. But what training is she doing in the dining hall?
<She has a skill that allows her to convert food into mp. Through continuous filling and emptying of her mp, her bonus stats are increasing at a rapid pace.>
I enter the dining hall and see the girl in question eating what looks to be pancakes with a soured expression. She looks like someone killed her parents.
<Someone did. But that's not the reason why she is frowning. She usually gets to spend some time with Melody bit since she and Guy are moving they won't be here for a few days.>
