บท 53: Chapter 53: Buying the farm

Driving to Abuela's ranch, Eddie's thoughts recounted the night before.

What if Robbie was setting him up to take the fall for the murder.

Eddie drove as close, as he could to Abuela's ranch and parked the truck. Morning mist covered the grassy patches and hardened soil; an eerie stillness surrounded the property. He mused; it was too risky to drive to Ballard with a dead body in the truck-bed. The area was deserted, so he decided to bury the body on the property.

Exiting the truck, he searched the grounds of the abandoned ranch but couldn’t find Francesca’s body. Remembering he had lost his confirmation scapula, he searched the area near the Acacia tree. He dropped to his knees and palmed the ground.

"Senor, are you looking for something?"
