For the past few months, Desmond and his group had taken refuge underground, concealing themselves from the outside world. Meanwhile, Felix and his men had the arduous task of venturing out into the treacherous realm to hunt down those monstrous creatures, returning with their lifeless bodies as a means of sustenance.

While Annie and the other girls dutifully took on the responsibility of cooking and designing the living quarters, Laura occasionally devoted her time to teaching Alice additional spells. Though Alice's progress in mastering these spells was slower compared to her time at the academy, she found solace in the fact that she was safe within the sanctuary they had created.
