บท 15: End of the Semi-Finals, ST vs RS
"Now ladies and gentlemen, here we have the match to determine who will be facing Team Obsidian in the finals later!" The announcer exclaimed.
The screens changed to show Summer and Topaz walking out and onto the arena.
"On the left side, we have the leader of Team Stark, Summer Rose! Alongside her is their team's fighter who can take anything his opponents throw at him, Topaz Titan!"
They stopped at the place they were told to wait at before the screens shifted and showed the other two competitors.
"On the right side, we have the electrifying Rey! Next to him is his partner, who can brightened most people's day, Sky Shine!"
Rey already had his Zanbato in his hands and Sky had two daggers with an empty line down the middle to the handle with circle spots.
"Let the match begin!"
Summer quickly created a white petal before throwing it to Topaz, who caught it.
The four dashed forward and pressed their weapons against their opponents. Topaz's Tanto against Rey's Zanbato. Summer's Wakizashi against Sky's daggers.
Topaz broke the clash before shooting his shoulder into Rey's chest, knocking him backward.
Summer used her semblance to create two white petals-one behind Sky and the other in front of him. She then swapped places with the petal behind him. She slashed Sky across the back, causing his aura to appear.
Sky quickly turned around, only for Summer to switch places with the other petal and hit him away.
The petals she switched with were starting to disappear like ash.
When Summer uses her semblance, whatever she is switching with must have some amount of aura based on the distance and both her and the objects momentum. That is where her petals come into play. Her petals are pure aura that she can create and switch with anything they are touching.

Topaz blocked Rey's slash. By this point, Rey had some light blue lightning dancing around him.
"I'll admit, I'm surprise that you are able to keep up with me." Rey admitted.
"Thanks, but this is nothing." Topaz commented with a smirk.
He shot his leg out, hit Rey in the chest, giving Topaz enough time to land a strike against Rey's arm, causing his red aura to appear and block the strike.
"Then let's crank this up!" Rey exclaimed, before his light blue lightning turned into a dark red and danced furiously.
Rey disappeared before reappearing behind Topaz.
Topaz turned his head, revealing his shocked eyes before barely spinning his blade behind him to block a fearsome blow that sent him rolling forward.
'Alright, with my own semblance, that likely placed him just barely faster than I can move at my fastest. Problem is, it takes about 3 seconds for me to reach that. He can reach that speed in roughly half a second if I'm correct.' Topaz thought, crouching into his stance.
"Well, you cranked it up." Topaz smiled at a challenge.
Rey dashed forward at him.

"You are very annoying." Sky muttered.
Ever since they were split up, Summer had been using her semblance a lot to land several attacks in his guard.
Summer dashed forward and slashed, only for Sky to dodge out of the way before shooting both hands into her face.
"Flash!" Sky exclaimed.
A very bright light flashed in front of her face, blinding her.
'Shit! That's like a flashbang!' She thought before feeling something slam into her gut, sending her flying.
She rolled while still having her eyes closed.
When she opened them, she had a major spot in her vision that started going away quickly, thanks to her aura.
When she could fully see again, she saw Sky about to slash her with his blue katana.
She braced her armed before feeling the impact, causing her red aura to appear on her arms and be sent further back again.
Getting up quickly, she quickly created 5 more petals.
"I need to hurry up. Between the two, Rey is more dangerous with his semblance." She muttered before readying herself again.

A red blur went past Topaz, who was moving his blade around incredibly fast to block as many attacks from Rey as possible.
He took a quick second too look at everyone's aura.
'Mine is still at 73%. Rey's is at 56%. Likely from using his semblance.' He thought, ducking under a slash and slashed at the spot, only for him to be gone. 'Summer's is at 51%. Possibly from heavy hits and semblance usage.' Braced his sword from an overhead strike. 'Sky's down to 33%. Summer must be landing some strong hits.' He finished thinking, just as Rey managed to break his guard and land a strong slash across his chest, making his silver aura appear.
'Make my aura at 66%.' He thought. 'While this is irritating that I can't hit him, he is constantly using aura at the same time though. From the rate it's dropping, he can only keep doing this for 2 more minutes before he's down to 40%.'
Topaz stopped and readied his stance once more.
He saw the blur coming straight at him before almost arcing to get behind him.
"Ha!" Topaz yelled, slashing behind him with a lot of strength.
A loud sound of metal striking metal rang out.
Topaz had completely blocked Rey's strike and, even more, thrown Rey off balance.
He quickly followed up with a slash at the feet, a punch in the chest, and finished it with a spartan kick, sending him rolling backward.
The red lightning around Rey started calming down a lot before settling down as sparks.
'Rey's aura: 31%.'

"Flash!"
Summer switched places with another petal to avoid being blinded. She switched her sword to her AR-15 and shot several bullets at Sky, who deflected a few of them but couldn't deflect all of them.
She reloaded it with gravity bullets before aiming at him again.
Knowing that he was at a disadvantage, Sky shot a hand forward before using his semblance to create another flash of light.
Since she was so far away from him, it didn't blind her, but she couldn't look at him directly.
He used this to run at her, trying to do as much damage to her aura as he could before she manages to knock him out.
He slashed at her, only to be blocked by the Wakizashi and a white petal appeared behind him.
She disappeared before he felt an impact on his back before a buzzer sounded.
"Sky Shine has been eliminated by Aura Depletion!"
Summer quickly headed towards the area Topaz was at.

The two of them were continuously blocking each other's strikes.
Topaz, out of the two, had more natural speed and strength.
Rey, however, with his semblance, as little as it was, allowed him to increase his speed just enough to barely keep up with him.
Their fight of blocking came to an end when a shot rang out and Rey had to jump backwards to avoid it.
The two of them noticed that Summer had arrived before she switched to her Wakizashi form and moved towards them.
"Firefly!"
Topaz nodded before preparing his next action.
Seeing Summer coming at him, and yelling a plan, Rey decided to take a risk. Topaz proved that he could keep up while he used his semblance and all that was doing was using his own aura supply. Deciding that he needed to get rid of at least one of them, he quickly made his way to Summer.
Just as he was right in front of Summer, just about to slash his Zanbato, she vanished.
And in her place was Topaz.
Rey's eyes widened.
Before he could do anything, Topaz slashed at him as fast as he could, landing a devastating strike into his chest, causing his red aura to appear, before flying backwards.
Plan Firefly is a plan where Summer will act as bait before switching with one of their teammates at the last second, allowing the switched individual the ability to land a quick, strong attack due to the surprise of the opponent.
As he landed a buzzer went off.
"And just like that, Rey has been defeated by Aura Depletion! Meaning that the last team to go into the finals against Team Obsidian will be Team Stark!"
With that, Topaz let all tension in his body release, causing him to release a few heavy breaths.
"We did it!" Summer exclaimed.
"Yeah...we did." Topaz smiled.
Rey slowly got back up.
"Hey Rey," Topaz started, getting his attention. "Get that aura problem with your semblance fixed. I can't wait to have a rematch."
Rey looked at him before giving his own smile. "I'll get on that. In the meantime, don't let yourself get slower. Next time, you won't be able to even see me."
"I'll hold you to it."
Topaz and Summer made their way out of the arena before they ran into three teams.
"Heeeey! There's our fighters!" Qrow exclaimed.
"Way to avenge us!" Sola smiled.
"Even though there wasn't really any avenging." Lava muttered.
"Well of course we had to avenge you!" Topaz started. "No one can defeat 'Leg Breaker' and get away with it, not if 'Fellow Breaker' has anything to say about it."
"It was a good match." Kali stated.
"Oh? Did you come to spy on your opponents?" Topaz joked.
"We can not confirm nor deny such accusations." Willow commented.
"Still, can't wait for our fight." Nova said.
"I can." Summer quietly said. "That fight hurt my eyes. I swear I am still seeing dots from his lights."
As everyone talked, Topaz couldn't help himself to stop smiling.
'Tomorrow is the final day for the tournament. My team against one of our friend teams.' He thought. 'We already discussed that we would decide who would go to the final fight tonight. So, this will put Team Stark on the map.'
He then looked over to Summer. 'But how to do it in a way to shift focus away from Summer?'
It was later that night, an idea came to mind.
'If I do this, there will be no going back.' He thought.
Right before he would fall asleep, one last thought came to mind.
'After this, the Bloodied Tails will know where I am.'
