Alastair stared at the sleeping girl in front of him while Kirill stayed in his place, without moving lest he should disturb Samantha. She was leaning against his wing as she slept peacefully, completely ignorant to the location and people around her.
'You took the correct decision, Alastair.' Kirill mumbled as he covered her with his other wing, shielding her from the cold even though the cave was already warm.
'She is not ready, Kirill. I will not do anything against her wishes.' Alastair sighed as he recalled how Samantha had reacted when he had spoken about soul mate's bond. Though she had tried to conceal it, he had noticed the fear in her eyes. She was scared, and Alastair realized that it was too much for her to comprehend.
