My answer
Use remaining ammo to get the hounds off the vehicle, and radio for reinforcements asap. Kill them if possible. With me wounded I won't be of much help in a fight. If our vehicle stops we're all dead. Accelerate the vehicle to maximum speeds, and instruct the driver to use the environment against the hounds whenever possible. Even if maximum speed causes more damage to the vehicle. The closer we are to base the more likely we are to get reinforcements. If I'm going to bet my life something than I'd rather bet it on the chance of making it back to base than on having enough ammo to kill the hounds.
I probably wasn't going to need those extra pages. I'd never have time to come up with a huge complicated solution in the heat of battle.
Situation 3
You are in the middle of a large force headed in to fight another large force. You have minimal knowledge of the enemy force. You are surrounded by allied solders that you also have minimal knowledge of. You have five clips of rifle ammunition, a weeks worth of rations, a combat knife, basic med kit, radio, and a pistol with two clips. What would you do in this situation?
My answer
Whatever I can to stay alive. Help fellow soldiers when I get the chance. I do not have an ability or any way to predict how my allies and/or enemies will react so my best option to react to each situation in the moment. Since there is no way to predict what will happen there's no point in a long convoluted answer to this question.
That question left a bad taste in my mouth. It was one of those questions that didn't seem to have a right answer.
Situation 4
You have nothing but the clothes on your back, and a combat knife. You are wounded. You do not know where you are. You don't have any way to signal for help. What do you do?
My answer
Dress my wounds. Sneak around. Secure a campground, and a source of clean water. Try not to get noticed by anything predatory. Determine which planet I am on, and if it's one I know. Use the position of the sun to head to the nearest likely location of a base. I am wounded, and have no long range weapons in my possession. I would be at a disadvantage in a fight against any type of magical beast with only a knife on me so it would be best for me not to get in a fight at all, and avoid getting noticed entirely. Hope I'm lucky enough to find someone before something finds me.
Another horrible question. I wasn't liking where this was going. I really hoped that this wasn't going to continue like this.
Situation 5
You are a member of a 5 man team. On this team you have a demolition expert, a sniper, a low level mage, a civilian escort, and you with an automatic rifle. The demolition expert has the ability to create barriers. The sniper has a kinetic force explosion ability. The mage specializes in wind manipulation. The civilian has a strength enhancement ability, and the weaponry he's shown you is one shotgun, and a knife. You know nothing of the condition, and maintenance of his weapons. Your mission is to kill a Basilisk that has moved into the territory including the settlement that has been established on this planet. You have reached the Basilisk's cave, but a large stronger creature has killed the Basilisk. You can hear the creature approaching. What do you do?
Longest one so far. I reread it slowly.
My answer
Use the Basilisk's cave for cover, and attempt to kill the creature. As long as we continue to antagonize the creature it will continue to attack us. If it follows us into the cavern we can slowly wound it until it's condition becomes severe enough that it cannot escape a cave in. We're smaller, and much more likely to escape if the cave collapses, but the big creature will not have that advantage, and at the very least the creature will be badly hindered by our encounter. I believe the creature will follow us into the cavern because we are actively antagonizing it. Since it has killed the Basilisk it is likely to be a predatory creature, and predators don't react well when you wound them. Even slightly. We will have the advantage in an enclosed space, and our chances of victory increase considerably. If we manage to kill the creature we can return with an awesome story. If we fail then we have given the settlement more time to realize the greater threat.
Well. May not be the best answer, but at least it's one I can feel good about because this is the kind of situation where I'd be able to fight even without an ability.
Situation 6
You have been awoken by the settlement breach alarm. You have 1 pistol with a full clip by your bedside. You are not wearing any of the standard military armor. What do you do?
My answer
Search my room for my standard military body armor, and put on the chest piece, and helmet. Grab any weaponry that I see, and use them to keep myself alive. Aid any civilians I can as I move to a support or suppression position as quickly as possible. Once I've determined what the enemy is I will be able to formulate a better plan of action. Evacuation may be necessary. I cannot give a better answer without knowing the full situation.
That was a vague answer for a vague question.
Situation 7
Five Wyverns are spotted headed towards your campground. Your camp doesn't have the necessary equipment to deal with more than one of them, and only two of the soldiers in your camp have abilities that are strong enough to kill Wyverns. What do you do in this situation?
My answer
Use available equipment to protect the two ability users strong enough to kill Wyverns. Sacrifice my life if I deem it necessary. I will not be able to outrun Wyverns. Even if I have a vehicle so my best shot at survival is to risk it all on killing them. Not a great option, but the only one that has a decent chance at success. Since we have the equipment, and manpower to deal with three of them. The biggest problem is the other two, and what happens if they decide to attack together.
