Mirela knew it was coming. she KNEW she was going to die. she could use her powers, sure, but... she didn't like manipulating people's emotions. it seemed evil to her. short bursts of her emotional energy were fine for her, but she NEVER showed what she could really do. it would scare people what she could do with PEACE and PAIN. seriously.
Mirela's shoulder hit someone else's, and she mumbled an apology.
"no, it was my fault, i-" the guy/girl/person stammered.
"wait," Mirela said, looking up. "Ace? is that you?"
the grin that stretched across his face confirmed that. his dark brown hair, warm hazel eyes, and easygoing personality made EVeryone feel comfortable around him.
"I hate your hair, Arlo!" Mirela shouted as he passed by. she directed her attention to Ace. "hey!" she said. "long time no see!"
"Mirela! how are you?"
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAID ABOUT THE HAIR?!" Arlo cried.
Mirela snickered.
Ace glanced back. "wow, still teasing the old guy?"
"Yeah, but its more fun now that I know his weakness." she winked. "his hair," she whispered as if it were a secret she was sharing.
Ace snorted, "seriously?! dude..."
"I know," she said back.
Arlo stalked over, and Mirela imagined steam coming out of his ears like in Looney Toons.
"don't. insult. the hair." he hissed.
Mirela examined her nails, which were painted a sea green. "mhmm, gotcha, was that the bell?" she muttered distractedly.
by this point, Arlo's face was so red, it matched Vikki Nicole's new heels.
"hey Vikk!" she called out. "I think Arlo here likes your new heels!"
Arlo's eyes widened, and the red deepened for a different reason.
Vikki blushed. "oh," she said flirtatiously. "I like you too, Babe." she winked, tossed her hair, and was off.
Arlo looked like he was on cloud nine.
Mirela snickered, grabbed Ace's arm, and walked down the hall.
"wow," he said again, "you've gotten better."
"I've had a LOT of practice" she snorted. just as she was going to ask him where he was the whole week, the bell rang. the pair groaned in unison.
"oh, man. Mrs. Gomez." Ace muttered.
"well, let's get this over with," Mirela said with a sigh. then brightened. "then we can talk later on our walk home from school."
Ace grinned. "of course."
